Idol Face Off – Eva Avila vs. Katharine McPhee

Today’s Idol Face Off sees Canadian Idol winner, Eva Avila, going head-to-head against American Idol runner-up, Katharine McPhee. Who’s performance was best?

Eva sings more in tune but she’s bland and boring. She’s the winner I liked least
Eva killed this song! I think Katharine put more emotion into it, though. It makes Eva look kinda generic if I have to be honest (but I still LOVE her).
I voted for both for different reasons. That’s all I’m saying.
Yikes, both equally bad! I love Katharine but I’m Canadian so this was the best I could do!
Oh, that’s a tough one.
First – I think both Kat and Eva are great singers. Kat has grown as a singer since Idol – in my opinion, she was not that great a singer on Idol. Eva has since improved her stage presence immensely.
But, let’s judge the performances….
I think they both did great on this song. Their stage presence was equally… boring, in my opinion. Kat put more emotions into it than Eva. But Eva sings this one more in tune than Kat – Kat’s upper register was awfully pitchy on this song. I liked how Kat ended the song better than Eva, and in all honesty, I slightly prefer Kat’s richer tone than Eva’s.
But, on this song? Eva takes it.
Being Canadian I should have voted for Eva, but sorry I never could see her CI win so I voted for Kat.
LisaLee- who did you want to win that season? I can get what you mean because I wasn’t a huge fan of Eva’s. She’s got a good voice but something about her wasn’t exciting enough for me – plus she irritated me a bit in terms of facial expressions and stuff.
I’m not hating on her AT ALL – just giving my opinion for a change…
I thought Eva sang it better.
Katharine sang it sort of annoyingly(to me) but I thought she added more drama to it.
Overall I thought Eva did a better job since her voice didn’t sound as strained as Katharine did.

I voted for Eva. Not a great song for either of them, but Eva for me is by miles the better singer.
