no contest, it’s Kat all the way
Diana, definitely. Kat’s performance wasn’t bad persay, and she was definitely her element genre-wise, but she played around with the melody way too much for my liking. This song is a classic, and you really have to stay true to the melody and essence of the song, which Diana did.
Is it just me? The videos overlay each otehr and I can’t get Kat.
Must be my browser.
Ugh. Diana sang it like she was some Joe Shmo at a bar who got up on stage and busted out singing. I could have done without hearing that.
I would have to say Kat did a better job.
I likes the style Diana tried to sing in, but she is just too young and her voice was too young.
Kat was OK, but her song did not have the right luster. I can’t give it to either of them this time.
It is the wrong song for both of them. Now this would have been a great song for Melinda.
Kat hands down! She interpreted the song and made it her own… mature, professional job.
Diana just OK….sang it straight;hit some flat klunkers….
Katherine McPhee is the most beautiful girl ever on American Idol but lord I just couldn’t stand to watch her sing. She smiled through every song not matter what the hell it was about and looked uncomfortable through more than half. Diana can definitely sing, she was never my favorite but the girl can really sing.
Diana Degarmo clearly wins this contest. She is known from American Idol for singing Someone To Watch Over Me. She is the first person who sang the song on American Idol. She won the voting for the night to advance to the next weeks show.
Update to today, definitely watch Diana Degarmo on the Fox Reality Show American Idol Extra this week. On Thursday, May 1st, Diana will perform her new single Right Back Where We Ended.
Diana Degarmo was interviewed by Seventeen magazine on April 28, 2008. For any new information on Diana please go to http://www.dianadegarmo.com
The article is posted below from Seventeen Magazine:
American Idol’s Diana DeGarmo is back in the spotlight, and this time it’s for a great cause. Diana is the spokesperson for CMT One Country, a volunteer group that’s all about helping individuals make a difference. This past weekend, CMT One Country joined forces with Youth Service America for Global Youth Service Day, the largest volunteering event in the world!
Diana has been really busy helping teens get involved, but she still found time to chat with Seventeen about the event. “There’s not one specific goal in mind — it’s all about community,” she said. “CMT One Country has made it so easy to get involved, and it’s great to be working with them. The community has gotten me to where I am today, and I’m so happy to be able to give back.”
Global Youth Service Day, which took place worldwide over the weekend, offered thousands of volunteer events that illustrated the importance of community service. For Diana, getting involved in the community is a great learning experience for teens. “It really makes you thankful for what you have,” she said. “You can see that a lot of people need help, and do something about it. It opens your eyes to the world.”
How cool is it when celebrities give back? What did you do this weekend for Global Youth Service Day? Tell us now!

Diana DeGarmo eagerly returns to country music
By Kellie B. Gormly
TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Thursday, November 27, 2008
Diana DeGarmo, one of the top “American Idol” contestants during the Fox show’s third season, says she is excited and satisfied with the direction her career has taken since her time on the show.
DeGarmo, who will be performing with three other “Idol” finalists at a Christmas show Saturday, says she has been thrilled with her success so far, which includes her smash hit “Dreams,” released after her season on the television show in 2004. Now, DeGarmo is returning to her main love, country music, and hoping to get a record deal soon.
“I’m a strong believer that all things happen for a reason,” says DeGarmo, 21. She finished second to winner Fantasia Barrino on the show. “I really wouldn’t have it any other way. After the show is over, it’s all about what you do with that opportunity. I’ve been blessed enough to really keep that ball rolling. I may not be on the front page of a newspaper or magazine every week, but I’m happy.
“I’m still happy to call music my job,” says DeGarmo, a Georgia native and resident of Nashville, Tenn. “I’m happy to be doing what I’m doing.”
At “American Stars in Concert for the Holidays,” presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, DeGarmo will join Chikezie Eze and David Hernandez from “Idol’s” seventh season, and Kimberly Locke from the second season. The singers will perform mostly traditional holiday music, but will throw in some contemporary pop tunes. The four will sing as a quartet and individually.
“We want to get everybody excited about all the good times that November and December bring,” DeGarmo says. “That’s the wonderful thing about it. It’s going to be a show that people can bring their families to.
“I promise people that there will be big songs, little songs and everything in between,” she says. “We’re going to have a great time. … Expect to have a night of wholesome, good fun.”
DeGarmo released her debut pop album, “Blue Skies,” with RCA Records in 2004, and has toured a lot since her “Idol” stint. She also acted on Broadway, in the role of Penny Pingleton in “Hairspray.” Yet DeGarmo grew up singing country music, and now is pursuing a career in that genre.
“I went back to what was most natural and what was most fun, and that’s country music,” she says. “It’s really … where my heart and soul lie as an artist.”
DeGarmo is working on a new album with John Rich from the country duo Big & Rich. She sent out a demo to Nashville labels earlier this month.
“I’m really, really proud of the music,” DeGarmo says. “I’m anxious to see what happens in the next few months. It could be the best Christmas gift ever.”
DeGarmo does some songwriting, too, and says she loves the storytelling nature of country music.
“It’s definitely like free therapy,” she says. “At the end, you have this great song.”
Reminiscing about her “Idol” time, DeGarmo says Simon Cowell, the British judge known for his harsh ways, was brutal to her, as he was to so many people.
“He was one of those people that, if he liked you, you got to see a glimmer of humanity every now and then. I wasn’t on the ‘like’ list,” she says, laughing. “But it comes with the territory on this show. … I was fortunate that America liked me.”
Diana DeGarmo has officially released her new (EP) “Unplugged in Nashville” on December 5, 2008 during her holiday music tour with American Idol Alumni: Kimberley Locke, David Hernandez and Chikezie. The new EP was officially released at the Athens, Georgia tour stop on December 5, 2008.
“Unplugged in Nashville” has four songs that were co-written by Diana DeGarmo. The (EP) includes the songs:
Thank You
Find Me
Kiss Me
Like I’m Not Here
The new (EP) “Unplugged in Nashville” will be available on ITUNES in the next few weeks so definitely be on the lookout.

Heard the interview back in October 2008 of Diana DeGarmo on Rickey Tv. She talked about getting an (EP) ready to sell in December when she went on the American Idol Holiday tour with: David Hernandez, Kimberley Locke and Chikezie. I am very happy to hear that her dream became a reality that on December 5, 2008 she officially released her new (EP) “Unplugged in Nashville” in Athens, Georgia.
I have heard from many people that were in attendance at the holiday tour that purchased Diana DeGarmo’s new EP “Unplugged in Nashville” that the (EP) is great. Diana’s voice is just outstanding and her vocals are better than ever.
The new (EP) is an acoustic album with 4 songs co-written by Diana DeGarmo. “UnPlugged in Nashville” has the following songs:
Kiss Me
Find Me
Thank You
