Chris Sligh is excellent, but Taylor Hicks absolutely shines in this song.

Taylor was better this night than most, but Chris has a far better natural voice and tone. His appearance held him back more than his talent.

This was one of Chris’s best performances on idol but, for me Taylor did a better job. They were both really good though.

Love ‘em both. Chris’ voice is pure velvet and Taylor true grit. To me though, Chris made it much more believable and emotional.

WOW! Taylor all the way. He really blew me away with this song. Having never heard this song, Taylor made me instantly love it.

Chris was good, but it’s Taylor all the way for me in this song- he put everything he has into it, and made it one of his best performances.

They were both very good, but I have to give the edge to Chris. His pipes are first-rate and he put his heart and soul into it. For me, Curly beats Gray.

I like both performances but I go with Chris on this one. His voice is much smoother while Taylor’s is more gritty. I like smooth for this song, so my vote is for Chris.

    Carmen,
Sounds like we’re talking peanut butter. Do you want smoothe & creamy or would you rather have chunky?? I always ask for creamy.

Taylor did ok on this night, but Chris has a far better voice. Most of Taylor’s appeal had to be his shenigans, which were entertaining.

I prefer raw and gritty. It gave me goosebumps all over again.

I do like the version from Chris. He was one of my fav’s last year… there were very favs that year.

That’s a hard one…. I feel that both did a great job on it. While I didn’t think it was one of Taylor’s best performance, I do feel it ranks up there as far as Chris’ best performances go.

I feel that Taylor has the grit, the soul that this song requires. But to me, Chris brought the emotional side of this song out much better.

I love Taylor, I love Sligh…. But to me, this one is Sligh.

I loved Taylor, but I’m going to have to give it to Chris. He just has pure emotion in his voice, and I love that. Curly hair wins for me.

Chris gets my vote on this one. Taylor’s good, but I’m aware that he’s just singing a song. Sligh makes me feel and hear the song. Mission accomplished.

I had never heard this song before Taylor sang it and I fell in love with it instantly. Chris did a good version, too, but for me it’ Taylor all the way!
