Idol Fan: Jason Bean

As we wind down from the American Idol season, the question becomes “what’s next in Idol blogging?”

Well, personally, I’ll be covering some Canadian Idol stuff here, as well as trying to catch up on International phenoms. Also, we’ll be listing all the audition dates and locations, covering tours, etc.

But, more than anything, this is a great time to reflect. So I’ll be doing weekly (or something) interviews with Idol fans from around the world. This is our first one, from fellow b5media blogger Jason Bean:

Do you watch American Idol?

Every week! Twice a week.

If you had to sum up your feelings about the show in 25 words, what would they be?

Great entertainment. It’s like watching the equivalent of amateur sports. You get to see people who are singing because they love doing it.

Who is your favorite all-time Idol?

Is answering this question even possible? I really like Clay Aiken, but I’m thoroughly enjoying Taylor Hicks. Guess that makes me part of the Soul Patrol. Katharine McPhee is probably my favorite female Idol.

Who is your favorite judge?

I like Simon. He’s just being honest and trying to prepare them for the real world.

Do you feel the judges have changed in the last few years? If so, how?

I haven’t really noticed that much of change in them.

What’s your favorite Idol moment?

When Taylor came in to the final vote room at tryouts playing the harmonica. That was just awesome!

Who is your favorite contestant who didn’t make it to the final 12 in any given season?

I’m not quite as big a fan during the initial tryouts. So I can’t remember anyone off the top of my head.

Have you ever auditioned for Idol? Would you?

I’ve never auditioned. I might. But not before I make it onto Survivor!

What 3 things would you change about American Idol?

1.) Bring back the celebrity judges during performances.
2.) Give each idol more singing time (2 songs per night), and
3.) Stop the annoying banter between Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell.
