Idol Tour at the Indiana State Fair

Photo Credit: Matt Dial / The StarThe American Idols experienced their first open air concert arena as they performed at the Indiana State Fair on Thursday night, August 17th. Some of the idols impressed, where others just kept digging themselves in a hole.

Elliott Yamin became a quick fan favorite when he appeared on stage in the Colt’s Blue & White #18 Peyton Manning jersey. Katharine McPhee on the other hand lost more popular votes when she shared with the audience that she’s just a little girl from L.A. who wishes she was as “country” as the audience in the Grandstands. I’m sure she had good intentions, but someone needs to give this girl a lesson in PR and image control.

Chris Daughtry rocked out the night, giving many there a reminder of the curiousity that he wasn’t #1 in the end. As shared by David Lindquist for the IndyStar, maybe his reward for not winning was not being forced to be in a Ford commercial.

David Lindquist has a great full review of the concert including each performer’s highlights and low-points including Katharine’s.
