Jennifer Hudson Wins Golden Globe

Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls
Jennifer Hudson has done what no other American Idol has done, win an award not directly related to her singing career, and all that while being one of the American Idol losers. Jennifer won the Golden Globe for her supporting actress role in the movie “Dreamgirls” also starring Eddie Murphy, Beyonce Knowles and a host of other great names.

Getting her first taste of stardom on “American Idol,” Hudson didn’t even make the final two, getting cut mid-season. Being the dorky occasional American Idol watchers that we are, we remember the uproar that ensued on the evening Hudson was eliminated. Ryan “Master of the Flat Iron” Seacrest blamed the results on a power outage, and guest judge Elton John cried racism. British douche bag Simon Cowell once said that Hudson was “out of her league” in the pop singer competition.

Seems she’s overcome all those adversities and is making quite a name for herself in more than just the music industry. Dreamgirls racked up a number of Golden Globes at last night’s awards ceremony, including:

  • Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy
  • Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture – Jennifer Hudson
  • Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture – Eddie Murphy

Keep it up Jennifer, can’t wait to see what you do next and what your first starring role as an actress will be in the future.
