Jordin Sparks Doesn’t Regret "Slut" Comment

September 10, 2008 by Jeanne

2008 MTV Video Music Awards - Show

American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, defended promise rings after this year’s Video Music Awards host, Russell Brand, repeatedly mocked them.  It’s been a couple days but Jordin is standing by her words.  She told EW the following: “It’s something I feel strongly about.  I wish I would’ve worded it differently — that somebody who doesn’t wear a promise ring isn’t necessarily a slut — but I can’t take it back now. It was a split-second thing, and it came out kind of wrong. Still, I don’t regret it.”

Hmmmm… I’ve been there.  Believed in something and felt like I needed to defend it but the words came out all wrong.  Well, at least she’s sticking to her guns ;)

Been there, done that, too. We got the intent of your message, Jordin and applaud you’re stance. There is nothing to regret.
