Jordin Sparks Projected as Winner

If you believe in the accuracy of websites like Zabasearch, you might be a bit confused by what’s been going on. Jordin Sparks has been behind Blake Lewis for most of the season according to their stats. It’s 12:54 am MT right now and about 10 minutes ago, Zabasearch said that Jordin was maintaining a very slight lead. Now the site says this:
“Jordin Sparks took lead early in voting. Blake voters, the most dedicated ever on American Idol, narrowed gap frequently with speed voting.”
Now as of 1:02 am MT, Zabasearch has named JORDIN SPARKS as the winner.
I have to admit – I am a bit confused. I have spent the last three hours on every message board I can think of and there are some Jordin supporters but by far, Blake fans outnumber hers. There are even neutral viewers who feel that Jordin has been “pimped” (yes, that’s the word they used) by the judges to win. Others have said that they found it unfair that Jordin, the daughter of a football star, is even in the competition. Some had the same complaint last year about Katharine McPhee, a native of Hollywood and the daughter of a producer. I don’t have a real opinion on that but I want to know two things:
Do you feel that Jordin was pushed on to American audiences and do you think that contestants who have “connections” should be allowed on the show? Be nice. Be fair. Vote once. No haters. There is nothing wrong with discussing this and, yes, I am aware of the fact that Blake is not as strong a singer.

I have to agree with e_man! If Jordin and her management play their cards right, Jordin can be huge. She can definitely be as big as Christina and Beyonce but management and fan base will determine if she will be bigger than these two. But she can definitely be up there with them. She even has potential to surpass Kelly Clarkson but let’s see which direction she goes in with her album.

She said “he’s got guts”, she “looks up to him” and “he’s an amazing kid”. How do you transform that to her being all over him? I really don’t think if you are interested in someone romantically that you would refer to him as a “kid”.

I”ve seen her in person. She’s not that good. Melinda was taken off by producers so Jordin was left with Blake. Everyone in my home state of Arizona knows she was a plant. Sure there’s some Jordin lovers over in Glendale, but thats about it. Sad that america’s votes don’t count. Jordins grandmother has had her nose in so may of these game show contests, it is’nt funny…Sad for the people, we all know Melinda really won this.

Jordin will maybe be a one hit wonder if shes lucky. She’s not very marketable with her look.Maybe the label will work on the weight issue, we can hope! She’s young, its only gonna get worse! It’ll be fun to watch her grow!!

Brian, if your “huge” comment meant that Jordin is fat, then I think you are wrong b/c you can’t really classify her as “huge”. Someone Ruben Studdard’s size would be considered “huge” (just an example guys, I love me some teddy bear

But, if you were refering to Jordin’s musical career as “huge” then I can somewhat agree. She is not huge yet but will be.
Matt, loads of people said the same thing about Kelly Clarkson being a one hit wonder…guess they were wrong on that one.
DeSean, you sound a bit contradictive agreeing with Matt who clearly is not in favor of Jordin being successful and has this society molded sense of thinking that Jordin is “not marketable” because of her weight. I say that you sound a bit contradictive b/c your next words say that she can be a diva…
I do agree with you, however, that Jordin can definitely be considered a diva in time just like Mariah Carey (not Maria…big difference). And you mentioned Aretha Franklin too…ummm she is not exactly “thin” so again you sound a little contradictive, but we do appreciate your passion in thinking Jordin can be a diva. After all if Ashanti can be labeled a diva (and she is not as good as Jordin at all…well, if she has the computer back up then she’s ok) then Jordin can definitely be a diva.
Now i wanst actually using Aretha Franklin as an idea of Jordins weight becasue at the end of the day fat or not fat we need to look past it all and refer to her talent which is obvioulsy her wondeful voice which is the reason why she has won American Idol..I love jordin to bits and i support her all the way…oxoxo

shes good&everything, but she wont be that famous.. i gurantee, pretty much none of the american idol winners are like the new “idol” of music, besides carrie underwood&kelly clarkson.. who else was even that great? clay akons boring, fantasias obnoxious and barely famous, ive never heard clay akon fantasia on the radio.. taylor hicks was a joke hes not famous at alllll.. chris daughtrys prettty good&idk none are amazing.. besides like two.. i guarantee everyone likes jordin’s first new song.. but after that she’ll just die down like most american idol winners, im 100% positive(:
If you are speaking of AI winners not being to good besides Carrie and Kelly, don’t put Clay and Chris in that category b/c neither won. If you talk about non winners making it, then that is where Chris and Clay would come in. But quite frankly, Fantasia, Clay, Tamyra, Katherine, Jennifer and Bo have done well for themselves. They may have all branched off into different areas of the entertainment industry but they are all doing exactly what they wanted to. They may not be SUPER STARS like some people expect but everyone has different tastes, dislikes and likes and they all are doing a lot better now than before Idol so why knock them and say they are not famous or that they are a joke. In my eyes showing your undergarments or your private parts to the world does not constitute a “super star” but rather a ho!
Jordin may fizzle out at some point but 99% of entertainers do. Not all past AI winners have quite fizzled out yet either. Daughtery, Kelly and Carrie are still doing well. Maybe in some parts of the country do not get much air play but in most they do. Fantasia and Tamyra, and I think Jennifer Hudson are all on Broadway…that proves their careers have done well or they would not be there.

I hate Jordin Sparks. I was listening to the radio and there are a couple songs that are on that I hate. I didn’t even know until tonight that all the songs I hate were sung by her! Ugh the lyrics are SOOOO horrible. She didn’t even write them herself and she couldn’t get good lyrics.

That’s all part of being the winner of Idol…you are subjected to their contract and sing what they give you, do what they tell you…so now is it Jordin’s fault that she won? Jordin won b/c people voted for her not b/c of who her father is. Most people that voted never even heard of the man as he was not one of the “stand out” players. The fact is she won, she’s happy, she’s successful and that’s all that matters. Ok let me explain how this works since you are obviously “New”. When we write our initial post, most check the little box that says “email me when others comment” just as you probably got when you saw my response. So obviously after more than a year when I get an email such as yours I am curious as to what was said. So, it’s not like people are sitting on idolstalker all day hitting the refresh button hoping someone comments LOL. Most times I do not write anything but sometimes in a situation such as yours I am intrigued to respond.
I understood the part where you said that you didn’t care what anyone says…I can read and write you know. You, on the other hand, need to step up your spelling and grammar game while you are making fun of others because it tends to make you look as though you are just a juvenile with nothing better to do than to hate the world.
If you really understood what was written you would have understood that I wasn’t defending Jordin as I was just pointing out the obvious that some people just can’t see. Of course I don’t know Jordin any more than you do but the difference is that it seems, in this country, that so many people (not you) spend so much time with hate and making other people’s lives so miserable that their own lives pass them by. Now, I’m not saying that you personally are one of those people but you do show signs of it when you rant as you did in your first post. If you could actually read and write you would see that I never directly said that YOU Jazz the great are a hater, I simply said haters and you turned it around to be all about you. Now let’s talk about her (Jordin) dad and business because you seem so new to the game so I’ll help you out….first of all what is this: concections?????? It sounds more like a disease than what you were probably trying to say “connections” ah yes ok. Jordin’s father was an NFL player but in the wonderful world of business it’s not as easy as you think to sing the National Anthem at such an event(she has done it many times prior to AI at major sporting events just so you know)…just your luck I work on the Super Bowl Committee – how about that you picked the perfect battle! And I can tell you that her father DID NOT call up the committee and say “Hey let my daughter sing.” That’s not what happened at all. Second thing…geez you’re so new…when you win AI you pretty much become their property, if you will, and are under contract to perform at certain places and make appearances at others. The AI people are the ones that promote her and book her gigs as she is under their (AI) contract. Did you ever notice that when someone gets eliminated they all go through the same series of TV interviews and appearances? So if AI does it for the ones that got eliminated, what did you think they would do for the winner? Hmmm tough question isn’t it?! LOL
You keep saying that Jordin won based on her looks and that Melinda wasn’t as “apealing” but most would disagree because when Jordin was either close to winning or at the same time she won, there was controversy over her win/potential win because of her weight and was even called “unappealing” so although I have to disagree respectfully on that point, you DO have a point about Melinda. Melinda is an amazing singer/vocalist and in reality should have won the coveted title of American Idol BUT we don’t live in a perfect world so…
All-in-all I hope you understand that we/I do understand that you have expressed your opinion here and no one is really denying that or taking your opinion away from you at all, if anything we appreciate your opinion as well as the opinions of others and a little controversy is always welcomed. I hope you understand and realize one day that when you are trying to prove your point and scoff at others you should at least come across as someone who really knows what they are talking about and with as many spelling and grammar errors that you had, I hope you can see where no one would really take you seriously in the real world (just a bit of constructive criticism although I’m sure YOU don’t need it)

I understand that some people go around saying I work here or there but really don’t, I’m not one of those people. It may be hard to believe but it’s true. I have been a part of the Super Bowl Committee for the past 2 and 1/2 years down here in South Florida. While it s not my full time job, I do work with them part time arranging half-time entertainment. As for proof, I don’t know what you want but that’s ok to be skeptical, I guess I can’t blame you and that’s ok.
Just b/c someone replies to your post/opinion does not mean that they are tearing it down in any way at all it’s just a simple response to your opinion is all. I don’t really know how else to explain it to you right now if you don’t understand, I guess maybe in time you will.
Just because someone disagrees with your point doesn’t mean they are trying to take your opinion away – no one can do that, it’s impossible. That’s what makes each person unique is that they do have their own opinions and theories and that’s a good thing otherwise this world would be a bore so please don’t take it as a bad thing or someone tearing your opinion because it’s not like that at all it just makes for better and more interesting conversations that’s why I said we welcome you and your opinions.

I liked Jordin her whole season and think she was the rightful winner. At 17, she had a great voice that most likely will only improve and she is a natural on stage. Melinda has a fantastic voice and I will probably buy her CD but – to me – she has a little stage appeal. Kinda like Willie Nelson, IMO. I love listening to Willie sing but don’t care to watch him. Now, before I get attacked, I am not saying Melinda looks anything like Willie so don’t even start. LOL. When someone “corrects” my opinion I just laugh. To me, my opinion is the only correct one but I’ll listen to or read others. IDC. My personal favorite Idols include Kelly, Clay, Diana, Ruben, Tamyra, Carrie, and Anthony F. Not necessarily in that order. Just think how many recording artist or wantabe recording artist there are. After 7 seasons of AI, the track record for those that have made a good living in the entertainment business is impressive.
