Canadian Idol winner, Kalan Porter, was horrified by his mother’s breast cancer diagnosis. He took time off, basically disappeared from the music scene and came back with this touching song (and video). Here it is:

I’ve always liked his voice, but I found the video more amusing than touching. It was like some overly eager effects person wanted to throw as many weather effects at the poor kid as they could. “Bring in the hurricane generator! Now some snow! Yeah!” :)

Hi Jeanne, did you see the acoustic versions of Kalan’s Down In Heaven and Hurray? Kalan was on Calgary Breakfast TV few weeks ago for an interview and live performances. They are great. You can watch online here.
