Katharine McPhee Fans Blast Radio Station

Well, one thing is clear - American Idol season 5 runner-up, Katharine McPhee, has fans. Last week, outraged fans listened to a terrible interview on a Washington, D.C. radio station and now the show’s host, Kane is fighting back.
Kat was interviewed by an intern named Ally on Hot 99.5’s The Kane Morning Show. The station had agreed not to ask Kat any personal questions. When Kat’s flight was delayed, she was unable to make it to the station so an intern conducted an interview over the phone and asked questions about her relationship with a much older man.
Kat was reasonably patient for a bit but then said that she didn’t want to discuss her private life and the interview went downhill from there.
Kat’s fans immediately took action, inundating Kane with complaints. “Maybe she should have been nicer and been live as she promised,” Kane replied to some of them.
When the angry calls and emails kept coming, Kane issue the following response:
“I’m getting increasingly frustrated by e-mails from McPhee fans that don’t know the whole story and are writing me angry e-mails. It makes Kat look bad when ever other word in your e-mail about how you thought we didn’t handle the interview professionally starts with an f***… Slam us, go-head. We agreed to have her on; we followed the rules. They didn’t tell the truth. Kat could have had a little more fun with Ally. She could have said, ‘You guys know you’re not supposed to ask me personal questions. What’s wrong with you?’ Rather, she just got mad.”
Kane also said that he questions Kat’s excuse for not being able to make it to the station since the flights from L.A. to Washington weren’t delayed that morning.

This is all your fault Jeanne! You just had to post that podcast last week for all the McPhee fans. LOL I still think it was a hilarious interview. I think McPhee was just too tired to have fun with it or else she probably would have joked around with Ally.

And the question Ali asked: “Do you find it difficult being faithful to your BF while you are touring” was fun was it? And she asked this even after Katharine had said she didn’t want to answer any more personal questions. That was being deliberately rude and provocative and no doubt it was Kane putting her up to it to cover his cowardly ass.
So Kane, why don’t you answer some personal questions just for fun? How many times have you cheated on your current and past girlfriends/boyfriends? Come on, answer the question, have fun with it.
Kane is just a Howard Stern wannabe. Good luck with that. You will no doubt attract a similar audience of juvenile misogynistic males. You certainly won’t ever have anyone as classy as Katharine McPhee on your show ever again.
Listen to the podcast - click the link in my name. Listen to Kane and his buddies reveal their nastiness in their own words. See how they pretend the interview is the intern’s fault. Decide for yourself if this was an ambush calculated to embarass Katharine. See how Katharine acts with class regardless.

Pheenomenal, you make it abundantly clear that you’re not from the Washington DC area and have never, besides this interview, listened to the Kane show ever in your life.
As someone who listens to Kane every morning on her way to work, I can honestly say that Kane is not the satanical maniac you make him out to be. He’s funny, smart, and cares about his coworkers, fans, and the people he interviews. Ally is young and before McPhee, had only interviewed one other person. Ever. She’s inexperienced and learning the ropes of the radio world. Cut her some slack.
No one “calculated an ambush” against McPhee. That’s you, being crazy. It was a bad interview, plain and simple. If Katharine’s reps hadn’t given the Kane show the shaft about the live in studio interview in the first place, the entire phone interview never would have happened.
Next time, before you start out on a personalized witch hunt, learn the facts. Research your argument. It’ll make you and your fellow fans seem smarter, more organized, and less like immature lunatics.

kissmekate-no I am not from anywhere near DC.
I do not blame Ally at all. Because I believe she was set up. Using an intern in itself is an insult. I do not believe that she came up with a question like “Do you find it difficult being faithful to your BF while you are touring”. Do you for one second believe that was her idea?
I don’t know what happened with the scheduling. I highly doubt it was Katharine’s fault, she doesn’t arrange these things. And yes, I agree her team should have done a much better job with her scheduling and yes it wasn’t very professional of them to cancel at the last minute.
But surely these things happen all the time when you are at the mercy of airlines and traffic and multiple demands on your time.
Is this the proper way to respond to it? By insulting and trying to anger your guest? Could they not have just done a proper telephone interview and taken a rain check on the live interview? Then they would be ahead and everyone would be happy.
But no, Kane decided he was going to act like a child and retaliate with his shock interview.
I’m very reasonable and very aware of the facts and those are my conclusions.
Also, when a fan wrote him a very polite letter about this issue his reply was “She should have been nicer, did you see the review of her concert?” referring to a negative review of her concert later in the day. As if that has anything to do with it? It was Kane’s learing remarks in his emails that triggered the anger.
As far as I’m concerned the man is a swine. He could have acted like a professional and like an adult. Instead he chose to be spiteful and vindictive.

This Kane guy sounds like an ass. Just another 12 yr old boy in the body of a man. I’m not a big Kat fan but to bring someone on for an interview just to make fun of them is not particularly funny.

It looks like his show today bombed too. He put out the word that he was going to play Katharine’s new single at 7:45. Then today he said he wasn’t going to play it but promised his audience that Katharine’s insane fans would be calling in from all over the USA to compliment thn song that he hadn’t played. And he was going to have a great time making fun of them. So guess how many crazy kat fans called in???? NONE! So Kane once more looks like a big idiot. He also called Katharine’s new single a POS or Piece Of Shit. Very classy. What a gentleman. I hope his fans are proud of him. And what did Katharine ever do to him? Her people changed her schedule. Kane is just a spoilt little child. Keep it up. This is all great publicity for Katharine. I hope the press covers your failed stunt today too. Let the nation see once more what an ass you are. Perhaps it can be a daily feature.

Kane’s a freakin radio DJ. He’s not the one required to have class. Mcphee’s people shafted him, so he returned the favor. She deserved it. She goes around with her Daddy’s money thinking she’s hot shit, but she’s nothing but a microwaved turd.

Well CB-you are condemned by your own idiotic words. I don’t need to add anything.
Except - Katharine is making 2.5 million for her 2 year Sexy Hair endorsement. Not to mention everything else that is going on.
Katharine has been chosen most beautiful/sexy in the world by 3 different publications.
Katharine has been the cover girl for at least 10 magazines.
Katharine is going to star in a movie.
Wow - young, beautiful, sexy, supremely talented and independent wealthy.
Eat your jealous heart out. :p

Kane is a bad DJ. He pulled a bad stunt with Beyonce right after he got to DC. I haven’t listened in a while, but it seems par for the course for him. There’s not much anyone can do. His buddy/boss must really love him (they’ve been friends for a long time). If it were any other station or DJ, he would be reprimanded. Take a deep breath in, then let it out. unfortunately, Kane is not going anywhere. I wish he would, the station sucks now
