Katharine McPhee "I Know What Boys Like" – Video

American Idol season 5 runner-up, Katharine McPhee, sings “I Know What Boys Like” on the soundtrack of her upcoming movie The House Bunny (see pics from the screening here!). I am sorry but I think this song is absolutely horrible. I hate this version of the song and I think that all of the singing is questionable (even Kat’s, sorry).
it didn’t really sound like singing at all. just kinda like telling a story to a beat. i know kat’s good, and she was in certain parts of this song, but i know she’s better than this song. but it wasn’t horrible. i think it was more the song than her that was bad…
I never liked Kat’s voice, she’s a hit or miss kind of singer although she is beautiful. The singer I liked that year besides Yamin was a little skinny black girl. I can’t remember her name, she sang alone at the piano with Burt Bacarach, I think on the finale. Now that girl could sing. Sorry if I butchered Burt’s name.

I really don’t understand how or why she got a movie contract at all. She’s okay but hardly that good. lol

I have to agree, and actually the movie has not received good reviews at all. Also in the review I read Katherine’s name was barely mentioned and and when it was they made fun of her character.
She really is in my opinion a very mediocre singer. She has overall just used her looks to get ahead. Looks will only get you so far.
House Bunny finished #1 on the day it opened & #2 overall the first weekend.
According to LA times “McPhee may not have many lines, but she does sing twice — once in a very un-”Idol”-like karaoke performance, and once doing a modified cover of the Waitresses’ 1982 hit “I Know What Boys Like,” which plays over the credits.
On set, McPhee was able to improvise and came up with some funny moments that stayed in the movie, including one in which she squeegees her character’s pregnant belly during a sexy carwash scene.
“Surprisingly, Katharine could throw down and was excellent at throwing in improv stuff,” Wolf (director) says.
