Kelly Clarkson Advises Leona Lewis?

November 1, 2007 by Jeanne

Kelly Clarkson 2007 Teen Choice Awards Arrivals 04 with Vanessa Hudgens

Leona Lewis, who won Britain’s “X-Factor” competition, has a new single out (“Bleeding Love”) and it’s at #1 currently. American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, had some advice for Leona (who covered Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This” after she won on “X”). Kelly says that Leona should lay down the law and establish that she is in control of her life and the music that she wants to make.

Kelly said: “If I’ve one bit of advice for her it would be that, no matter where you have come from, you must stick to your guns. I have had to fight for certain things and you always will in this industry.”

Hmm…

You know, No offense to the Kelly fans out there, but Every time she opens her mouth I want to smack her from her own stupidity. It’s bad enough she comes off, uneducated with her ” Cool Beans” level of mentality, but she is the LAST person to talk about how to handle a career after her disasterous album this time.

It seems to me, she should concentrate on her own problems before giving out such less than sage advice to a newcommer.

  2. Jess says:

Don’t get me wrong, It is important to be true to yourself, but No one succeeds alone, and comprimise and assistance with those that are involved is far better than the way Kelly handled her issues. and her sales reflect that.

Hmmm, I’m sure the Kelly fans will tell me I’m wrong though.

  3. Vincent Vincent says:

Lawl she didnt tell her to act aloe she told her to fight for what she believed, meaning to go for what she wanted to do and not what simon wanted her to do. And dude her biggest success was written by her lmao

  4. Jess says:

Vincent, She had a lot of help to get her biggest hit where it was, Co-writers, Label support. . Alone she was nothing. Fighting for what you believe is one thing and tanking because you don’t listen to the people around you is just stupid.

  5. Vincent Vincent says:

Yeah dont worry i got that =) I know that without AI she wouldnt have been famous and that she should shut up and listen a bit to what Clive has to say.. but still she did that in the past and fought for her music ( Because of you , behind these hazel eyes and more were hers) and this was her biggest hit not SYUB. So she was right to fight. Then again Mydecember was for her she didnt care about the money she says shes got enough she did it for herself sort of therapy and i loved it so much , different from what u here evryday.. id describe as honest.. but whatever ^^

  6. Jess says:

If you really believe she didn’t care about money you really are a blind fan of kelly’s. I bet she cared very deeply about it. enough to apologize to Clive, enough to cancel and re plan her tour, It’s ALL about money. and I’m sure she noticed the lack of it My December brought in.

  7. Vincent Vincent says:

she really doesnt, and im not naive lmao, do u see how she dresses and everything. she lives with her brother . she doesnt have the diva attitude yet so stop dissing lol, she maybe soon will but how can u expect to be heard out if u shut urslef down to someome lilke clives whos got the industry in his pocket?

  8. jean says:

But the questionis – is that good advice in the music business when you are starting out or the other question, should Kelly be helping the person that Simon Cowell feels will upsurp her?

  9. Jess says:

Good question jean, Not to mention, should Kelly be giving such advice when it didn’t really work for her.

I’d be looking for advice from someone that was around for a lot longer and someone that REALLY had to work for thier success, Kelly had a whole lot handed to her in the way of Radio and label $upport, not to mention acceptance from day one. I’ve never felt she had to work nearly as hard at promotion etc. with Idol and Clive pulling out all the stops for her. Not all idols or even most artists got the treatment she got.

Which is why it suprised me she’d be so anxious to bite the hand that litterally feeds her, and her career so quickly, as though she no longer needed the peons that put her there.

  10. Jess says:

I don’t know Vincent.. Calling your boss and label A whole lot a names IN INTERVIEWS and putting down the people that made you what you are, because you think you know better IS a bit DIVA. at least it is to me, It wouldn’t have mattered so much if her songs were actually all that good on thier own, but sales and lack of radio interest would indicate that it wasn’t what most people wanted. It slipped off the sales chart awfully fast. And I’m SURE she noticed, as did her label. I’d be suprised to see how much control she’ll get the next album. I can’t see them be very happy with her additude.

  11. Lee says:

hey Jess, although you don’t like Kelly,at least you have to respect others who like her. i think you’re stupid and uneducated when you say those words, and i want to smack you! yes,she had assistance, but if she has no talent, will she have them? have you ever hear anything about her simple life? you know nothing!
