Kelly Clarkson Album Sales Update
Well, at the risk of telling you what you already know, I’m sad to report that Kelly Clarkson’s newest album, “My December” continues to decline. I know that many of you don’t care because a) you love Kelly and her new album or b) love Kelly and accept that this album isn’t working or c) don’t really care about Kelly Clarkson news at all. Well, there are people who want to know which is why this is here. So, for all those concerned, “My December,” according to Nielsen, has dropped to number 21, which is down 14 percent from last week.
Hey, I look at it this way - a lot of people don’t even make it up to #21, so dropping to it is still pretty good, isn’t it?

Unfortunately for Kelly - she did the right thing - but the right thing was not the right timing, in a market where creativity and artistry doesn’t seem to hold any value. If you’re pimping yourself through explicit sexual videos and getting down and dirty in the tabloids, that seems to count most in an industry that no longer holds any sort of value when it comes to artistic integrity.

KBCFAN - I was hoping someone might say something along these lines. I happen to agree with your statement quite a bit. It does seem, these days, that you’ve got to pimp yourself to make it. Maybe that’s what is wrong with Britney, Paris and Lindsay.

Actually, I do think Kelly has a down and dirty image at this point, but is forgiven by the media, for unknown reasons. I have seen a really raw video of her at a concert, but it wasn’t splashed all over the tabloids, of course. Her ego is enormous!!! This IS the real Kelly. She is MUCH better on a studio enhanced pop cd than she is live too. There are FAR better female voices out there.

Yup Kelly’s image is down and dirty and she is just like Lindsay and Britner - GET REAL Samantha - you haven’t got a clue or researched your opinion. Her live performances and vocal range and tone are the best in the BIZ right now. Shame on you for coming on here and making such an outlanditious comment.

For what it is worth, I do think Kelly HAD an ego issue (it was most apparent at World Idol, I was kinda disappointed by her reaction to losing) but I think this bump in the road was a necessary evil that got her back to where she needs to be.
Incidentally, having an ego is not always a bad thing and I’m not bad-mouthing her. To make it in the biz, some degree of egotism is important but I think that she might have overstepped a bit. No matter, she’s oozing with talent and I’m confident she’ll rebound :)

Kelly was very ill at World Idols and left the country immediately after the show. There was no ego and if you had researched and did your homework her interviews that followed her performance clearly revealed a very respectful, appreciatitive, unassuming young women, who has been extremely thankful and blessed to have been given such a great opportunity.

KBCFAN…Face the facts. She knew that she had screwed up and in my opinion those interviews were her backdoor way of trying to make things right. You can have an ego but she walked the plank on this new CD and at World Idol. And hate to tell you but there are better singers with less egos that can top her voice. I am not saying she isnt good…but Carrie, Martina McBride, Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Amy Lee from Evanescence and hell even Taylor Swift who is only 18 can out sing her right now. Kelly’s new CD I bought and was disappointed. I would rather listen to the one before that.
