K.T. Tunstall Says "No, No" to Duet with Katharine McPhee
American Idol season 5 runner up, Katharine McPhee, famously sang K.T. Tunstall’s hit "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" on the show but that’s about as close as the two are going to get, I’m afraid. Star Pulse is reporting that the Scottish singer snubbed the opportunity to sing a duet with Kat because she’s not particularly fond of reality TV pop stars - ouch!
Tunstall says, "I’m not a big fan of the reality TV-show-pop-star thing. It chokes the market in terms of young original talent. There’s a strong element of karaoke in pop TV shows. I like artists who fire my imagination."

Not the first time KT has been a bitch about this. Considering many hadn’t even heard of her before Katharine performed the song, she shouldn’t feel so superior.

ON Topic - Kate Tunstall
She has made it abundantly clear she has no respect of anyone from a “reality show” as if they are all the same person cloned many ways. Way to think openly Kate. Having a hit record does not mean you are smart. She should think about that fro a while. I don’t particujlarly like her voice, maybe she should get someone who can sing do her songs for her, like maybe the people on AI who all have to sing live week after week in front of millions.
I think this means she respects Hillary Duff more - you know the girl that never ever lip synced according to her publicist, so my lying eyes must have been lying to me as I saw her lip synch on TV time after time.

These “established” stars that blather on about the reality stars are missing the point that the “real” stars of radio right now are many times manufactured in studio, can’t sing live if their lives depended on it, and are far more false than these “idols” getting a shot. Puhleeze. Do they really believe that Ashlee Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Avril (who sounds like a helium balloon pissed off), Rhianna, and the like are ones for the ages, ala Gladys Knight, Aretha, et al? Check back in five years and see who can still sing.
They irritate me in their jealousy of giving someone else a break. It’s demeaning and shows their true disposition, making me want to support them even less.
Sheesh.

I have to admit, I didn’t like Katherine cause she annoyed me…but when I saw her sing on the walt disney special anniversary, she sounded so sweet and did a great job, that it kind of swayed me to like her a bit.
As for Hilary, I wish people would stop putting her down.
I’ve met her, and have sung with her before in a concert, she does not lip sync everything and actually can sing.
Trust me, I know..I’ve been performing since I was 5 years old and wouldn’t go onstage and duet with anyone who wasn’t really singing.
When you can actually hear it in your ear, and not just see it on the television, makes a big difference folks..don’t judge by what you see all the time.

Well I guess does not care for Justin Timberlake or Britney Spears either, because they both started out on reality TV as well.
Again, another artist out there who thinks way too much of herself! YUCK!!!

Well, I have only seen Hillary on television and there was no question taht she was lip synchng on all of those shows. Perhaps she did not trust the television mixers, although everyone one els on those shows sang live.
Hillary does seem to be one of the smarter stars out there right now, I would not question her acting or her business sense. Perhaps her lip synching was from her yonger days, I have not watched her lately, but have seen her on GMA, Nickelodeon and the other usual suspect shows that people perform on.

She’s a pretentious stuck up biotch; she even insulted Katharines rendition of BHACT even though it helped the song go up the charts. Kat’s music >>> Kt’s music.
