Live Blogging Canadian Idol Results – September 11, 2007
September 11, 2007 by Jeanne
Montage of past Canadian Idol winners.
The Top 10 are performing “You Give Love a Bad Name.” Awww… I miss Greg Neufeld and Dwight d’Eon. In fact, I see so many faces that I miss. Jaydee kicks off the Top 10 singing “Blaze of Glory” and now Brian is singing. Now all the girls are singing and it is pretty decent. The song is now changing to “Livin’ on a Prayer” with Tara and Khalila starting the song. This is not as good as the boys but the girls are okay. Matt and Khalila are singing “I’ll Be There For You.” Brian and Tara are singing together too. Jaydee and Mila are singing together now and are joined by Greg and Martha. The song is “Making Memories”(?). Carly is singing “Always” by herself. Now the group is back to singing “You Give Love a Bad Name.”
Ben Mulroney says that a record was broken last night in terms of voting (almost 5 million votes). He also announces that Eva Avila, Avril Lavigne and Bon Jovi will be performing. The judges are introduced.
Zack said that Jaydee has been consistent all summer but that Brian has been a growing taste that he has learned to savour.
Sass said that this is the toughest show and that they were both great.
Farley said that he is expecting Canada’s taste to be reflected and that last night Jaydee’s youth showed and Brian’s growth showed.
Jake said that because of the people who were allowed to play instruments in this year’s competition, we were able to see growth like we’ve never seen before. He named a lot of people but not Jaydee who, I believe, plays the guitar. He must have forgotten…

Avril talks to Brian and Jaydee and basically advocates not finishing high school if you get a good enough record deal… nice!
She performed “Hot” and it was interesting… does she ever get energetic? She also announced that she will be on tour in 2008. Now she’s performing “When You’re Gone.” These videos will be available on my other site Avril Groupie later tonight (incidentally, I’m not the biggest fan of Avril but someone needs to cover her news, right?).

Dave Kerr and Ben are joking around and Dave is pretending to read a newspaper that said he was better looking than Ben.
Footage of Media Idol, terrible but funny! Hilarious! They even crowned a winner!
Ben introduces Brian Melo and shows his hometown at Hamilton Place holding about 2000 fans. One of Brian’’s good friends was interviewed and Brian thanks his fans in “The Hammer” – Hamilton, Ontario.
======================================================
Ben introduces Jaydee and shows a packed arena back in his hometown of Drumheller. Jaydee is really excited gto see a family friend being interviewed. He got all choked up and teary. It was so sweet.
Mila sings “I’m Going Down.”
Khalila sings “Family Portrait”
Martha sings “Power of Love”
Greg sings “This Love” (cue my tears…wah, wah, wah….)
Tara sings “Suspicious Minds”
Matt sings “Whipping Post” (yeah!)
Dwight d’Eon sings “Smooth” (Didn’t Edward Scissorhands wear those pants?)
Carly sings “Sweet Ones”
Jaydee (who misses his cue) and Brian sing “Waiting On the World To Change.” The rest of the Top 10 sing back up.
LOLOLOL!!!!! Will and Grace actor (and Ontarian), Eric McCormack is in the audience. Woohoo! Support your country!

A review of the guest performers from this past season.
Bon Jovi is performing “Lost Highway” in their first, live, televised Canadian performance!!!
Now they’re singing “It’s My Life.”
======================================================
Montage of the Top 10 0talking about how great it is to have support and fans (song playing in the back is Dido’s “Thank You“).
This is the last Top 10 performance – they are singing “A Song For You.”
Ben thanks that the fans for their support.
======================================================
Eva Avila is performing her single “Falling for You” and I am so sorry but I do not like the song and I do not like her performance.
She was presented with a platinum record for “Meant To Fly” (wow, that took a long time – where’s the love, Canada?) and a gold record for her album.
======================================================
Jaydee’s journey on the show was shown. Awww… He is so sweet and cute. They said he’s a television star and I agree with that! Now he’s singing “Johnny B. Goode.”
Brian’s journey on the show was shown. No clips without hats, people!!! LOL!!! They showed “Karma Police” which is one of my favorite moments on this whole season – okay on Canadian Idol ever! Now he’s singing “Karma Police.”
Okay, seriously, why doesn’t he ever show his head? Is Voldemort (from Harry Potter) hiding under there?
======================================================
Jaydee and Brian sing “Break on Through to the Other Side” (one of my husband’s favorite Doors songs). Brian and Jaydee each sing a song in their genre and then sing a song together. I’m too nervous to figure out the titles, okay???
======================================================
BEN HAS THE ENVELOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Uhh… what’s with Jake’s glasses. They’re too small! Moving on….

Ok, I’m in class and totally glued to your blog because I’m a great student like that. I have to jump in and say LOL @ Voldemort!!! That was amazing.
i don’t care that brian won, Jaydee is a better singer in my opinion and has a future in music no matter what.
If Canadian Idol brings out this past season on DVD look out……..they will put every sleeping aid medication out of business. Can you imagine………Dave Kerr, Brian Melo and Jake’s slobbering over the Melo-Meister all on 1 DVD set? Yep……instant zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Kimmy – I am so happy someone gets my sick sense of humor!
Jaydeefan – good attitude. Jaydee will be a star. No doubt.
Bored – that was so hilarious! You’re terrible. It was kinda rough, though.
Your Voldemort comment was a riot! Did you notice last night when they showed Brian in the Pantene room before going onstage and the Pantene guy was holding out three hats for Brian to choose from? (And of course Brian already had a hat on anyway.) I thought of you guys at that moment and had to laugh!
Voldemort? I must’ve missed something…
Weirdgrrl – I laughed till I cried when I saw that. I meant to include it in the live blogging but I got so carried away. Wasn’t that hilarious!!! Maybe Brian is balding? I just want to know what’s under there! My grandmother was like “okay, I waited till the last show hoping he’d take off his hat but I think I’m gonna have to go to Hamilton and remove it myself!” Hilarious!
L – It’s terrible! I’m almost embarrassed to explain myself! In the first Harry Potter movie, Professor Quirrell wears this hat/turban for the whole movie and it isn’t until the end that we discover that he’s been hiding his head because Lord Voldemort lives up there. LOL. *sigh* I’m so silly….
Ahhh, the hat question. Judging by his adorable but nearly bald father, I’d have to guess there’s some considerable receding going on under those hats. Funny but my husband was like that too. I dated him for six months before I ever saw him without a hat on!! Of course I knew he was balding but he couldn’t bring himself to show me. Silly man. LOL. When he realized that I loved him no matter what his hairline, he was finally able to let go of the hats. Perhaps Brian took note of Phil Stacey’s issues on AI and decided to keep his hats on!! LOL.
Jeanne, i have seen the head of Brian Melo. Hatless.
I know his secret.
(no joke.)
Oh, and I
hmm.. my post got cut. never mind that last bit!
Oh come on, tell us!
lol
its not really a big deal.
his hairline was receeding very badly so he shaved the rest of his hair off.
i just wish he was man enough to show the world! c’mon man! you just won Canadian Idol!
but i much prefer him with hats. his head is very small and round. hats give it a little shape!
