My Aiken Braiken Book Deal

What happens when you right a book about someone that didn’t give you permission to do so. You suck as a writer, and nobody buys your book?
It’s a America! You sue of course and that’s exactly what Jeannie Holleman is doing to Clay Aiken. She wrote a book about Clay Aiken based on information obtained from her neighbors, who used to be friends with Aiken’s mother. Supposedly the book is full of lies and is far from being supported by Clay himself.
Holleman is suing Clay for defamation and libel and wants a large lump sum of money, endorsement of the book by Clay, and to force him to sell the book at his concerts.
Two questions:
- Can you use an insanity plea for being an idiot?
- Is Taylor taking notes?

In the court papers she admits to having suffered mental problems. Enough said!!!

My teenage daughter is a Clay Aiken fan (so am I!)so I bought quite a few Clay Aiken memorabilia that was offered online, amongst them a video offered on EBay of Clay singing at a wedding. It cost about 35.00 or 40.00 with S/H, an exhorbitance! but because it was for my daughter’s collection of Clay Aiken’s items, I bought it. Little did I know what a steal it would turn out to be!
I was livid when I watched it and my comment was “What a rip off!” This was just a family video where Clay Aiken sings “You And Me” while the parties are entering the church and evidently, the camera is… on the PARTIES, and NOT on the unknown singer standing by the piano on the far right of the altar, so there is VERY LITTLE to see of Clay Aiken and A LOT to see of this uninteresting wedding, including parts of the reception. On top of it, the sound is TERRIBLE!
With the video came a lot of personal photos of Jeannie Holleman and her mom and her sister, and I could really care less about those photos!
Why were they sent? I don’t know!
This lady had then the audacity of offering her “new release” to me through my e-mail address and what she received back from me was exactly this: “I cannot believe your nerve! You people should be ashamed of yourselves by using someone’s fame, success and reputation to make money! That video was a rip off!” and I take the opportunity here to suggest she gets a life! If Clay Aiken is furious about this “book”, I cannot blame him at all. If this lady Holleman really “loves” him and his family, she would keep her mouth shut and protect his privacy! What does she expect? To be famous at his expense? To be a guest on “Oprah”, “Larry King Live” or the “Tonight Show” by any chance?
I hope my opinion about this “book” (if so I can call it!) will be of some enlightenment to anybody who reads it.
And I gave it a one star because unfortunately NONE is not an option!

How can Mr Aiken be sued – libel is committed in writing, and he didn’t write about this person! How rude! Hopefully this will be (or has been) quickly handled and not a lingering problem for Clay and his Mom.
