Promising Stars Starting to Fade?
There is a weird shift going on with the contest this season. Some that seemed so promising at the beginning of the season have already started to show signs of fatigue or even, in some cases, a lack of talent. It is not just about singing – it’s also about song choice, showmanship and likability.
#1 – Chris Richardson

He was not the worst last night, for sure, but I wouldn’t cry if he was in the bottom three. I thought he sounded really whiny when he sang “Don’t Speak.” It seems that when he has to sing higher notes, he resorts to whining which makes some of his performances annoying!
#2 – Chris Sligh

TIMING!!! Chris does not seem to be able to follow the rhythm of most of the songs he has sung. He made an excuse last night about having just learned The Police’s “Every Little Thing” but he has consistently been ahead of the music throughout the competition. He could have said, “yes, I have struggled with this all season and I’m working on it.” His arrogant explanation just irritated me. If he can’t sing on beat, he should go home.
#3 – Phil Stacey

Phil, Phil, Phil. He has started to sound like a less-experienced version of Michael Bolton – and that is not a compliment. There just isn’t a “wow” factor to be seen here.
#4 – Lakisha Jones

Okay, before anyone jumps down my throat, I have to say that Lakisha is one of the best singers on the show. This is a sad example of poor song choice. Last week, she sang “Diamonds are Forever” and this week she sang Donna Summer’s “Last Dance.” She is better than both of these songs. Whatever happened to encouraging contestants to take risks? She could sing these songs in her sleep – and it almost sounds like she did.

You got that right, no one could sing with Gladys Knight except Liksa and Melinda. However, Jordan could have I don’t know wh they didn’t put her in with them. But judgeing from talent of the thers. They needed her in back round.
