Randy Jackson Named "Father of the Year"

June 11, 2008 by Jeanne

Randy Jackson Randy Jackson, host of American Idol, was The Early Show this morning where he talked about being named on of the four recipients of this year’s “Father of the Year” award from The National Father’s Day Council.

Jackson, who has done a lot of work for Save the Children and Idol Gives Back, said that people ask him all the time about what he would do if his children wanted to be in show business or even audience for a reality television show.  His answer – he would support them.

I think it’s important as parents that we love our children for who they are so I hope he truly meant that.  Watch the interview:

I know NOTHING about his relationship with his family and children (hell, I didn’t even know he was married or even had children).
WHY was he named FOTY? What has he done as a great father?
    I don’t understand.
