Randy Jackson’s "Dance Crew" - Coming Soon!
American Idol judge, Randy Jackson, will be working with MTV and the creators of the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships to produce a reality dance competition show.
I just read this:
Tentatively titled "Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew," the show, slated to premiere in early 2008, will feature hip-hop dance groups from around the country competing for a cash prize and a touring contract.
After auditions — now under way — and early eliminations, the selected crews will face off in live weekly performance shows. One group will be eliminated each week by viewers who will vote via text message, online and phone.
"I have always wanted to do something with MTV," said Jackson, who is not expected to appear on camera. "MTV has the biggest voice, especially as it relates to music, dance and entertainment.
There have been several reality dance competition series, most notably ABC’s hit "Dancing With the Stars" and Fox’s solid summer performer "So You Think You Can Dance," but "Crew" is the first such series to feature groups rather than individual dancers.
I’m a big lover of SYTYCD so I’m not sure I need anything else. However, SYTYCD only airs in the summer and this could be a nice winter dance show.
I dunno - what do you guys think? Will you watch this?

Hee, I wonder if this will be as successful as his book (sold under 10K) or his and Paula’s “learn how to sing AI style” video (in clearance bins near everyone).
Randy is also working on a compilation album with a number of named stars. He wants it to be like other great compilation albums in history.
What else? What else? Well, he no longer seems to be working on Kim Caldwell’s album, that was originally a rock album, was switched to a country album and currently is seems to have vanished.
AI has been good to Randy, it keeps him busy working on different projects.

I’m not even sure I’m watching Idol. I haven’t seen the last four years of Idol in it’s entirety so I doubt this year will be different. But All these dance shows and knockoffs are pathetic really. No wonder i hardly eatch TV these days.

Hmm, well if it’s on MTV it should do okay. But Dance Wars Bruno vs. Carrie Anne is really similar and it’s airing next year as well.

Yeah I saw those dance crews,they were cool, but my people are hot!!! I want to know the next auditions dates. No one can dance better than us. Believe that! Houston’s is where we at. Calling all you dancers out!!! I betcha can’t do it like me!
