This season of American Idol did not rake in the ratings that it usually does. So many people have wondered what caused it. Some thought it was because it was a boring season and others blamed it on Sanjaya Malakar. The Globe and Mail is reporting that Ryan Seacrest blamed another source for the ratings slump: “Well, the knee-jerk reaction would be Simon. Clearly there’s an over saturation of his character,” Ryan said.

And what of those rumors about Britney Spears being hired to replace Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson? Ryan simply said – “I’m positive you can’t recreate the chemistry that we have with the group on American Idol.”
