Sanjaya Malakar in "Black Nativity"
American Idol season 6 contestant, Sanjaya Malakar, will be performing in the Intiman Theatre’s production of "Black Nativity" alongside fellow Idol alums, Karma Johnson (season1) and Leah Vladowski (a.k.a. Leah LaBelle - season 3). The performance, in Seattle, will take place on December 2nd at the 2pm and 7:30pm shows.
The three singers are alumni of the Total Experience Gospel Choir, which is founded and directed by Pastor Patrinell Wright — musical director and arranger as well as a performer in the show since its first production in 1998. Johnson appeared in Black Nativity in 2001, and Vladowski made her debut at age 12 in the first five runs, 1998-2002.

I’m so thrilled that Sanjaya will get to be a part of this! What a wonderful way to cap off this chapter of his life, as he prepares for the opening of the next chapter to begin in LA! All the best to him!

See and hear Sanjaya sing a few bars of Sweet Chariot over at http://www.rickey.org/?p=6686
His voice is beautiful and pitch perfect.
He has been working with Stevie Wonder’s
friend and voice coach. He is simply amazing.
