Simon Cowell Wants President Obama on American Idol

After hearing that President Barack Obama mentioned his name during a recent appearance (the first sitting president to do so!) on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, would like to have the commander-in-chief on the show.

Apparently, while talking to Absolute Radio, Simon said "we’re trying to get (Obama) to do a show at the moment… (The president) was on the ‘Tonight Show’ talking about how everyone in Washington is a critic. And then he said, ‘Unfortunately, they’re all like Simon Cowell.’ I’m not sure if it’s a compliment or not."

My guess is that it is NOT a compliment but Simon seemed to take it in stride and called the president "a really cool guy." 

I don’t know if Obama would take time out of his busy schedule to make an appearance on American Idol.  Maybe if it was for “Idol Gives Back” or something but I can’t see it happening otherwise.  It would be cool, though.
