Simon Harrasses Paula During Performances

Imagine how annoying it can be to have a little bee buzzing in your ear while you’re trying to listen to something! That’s apparently what life is like for American Idol judge Paula Abdul. In an interview on the Ellen Degeneres Show recently, Simon Cowell, confessed that during performances, he likes to irritate her. We’ve all seen him talking up a storm while people are trying to sing - heck, he even got in a little trouble over it when people mistook his eye-rolling during his private gab-fest for insensitivity towards the Virginia Tech school shooting. Still, Simon continues to flap his lips explaining that he’s “taunting Paula throughout the performance. I’m saying to her, ‘Try to say something interesting, try not to use the words mountain and lakes in your critiques because it’s always: You’ll climb mountains, you’ll swim lakes, whatever.’” He also explains that he can afford not to pay close attention during the taping because he watches the dress rehearsals before the show.
