Simon Has More to Say About Britney Spears

I saw these Simon Cowell quotes over on Page Six. I tend to agree with what so many are saying: MTV exploited Britney Spears. Yeah, some of us were hoping she was going to come out strong but I think most of us knew that she was not even close to ready. MTV really did something shady, in my opinion. They approached her and it’s kinda sad…
Anyway, here’s what Simon said:
The “American Idol” host, known for bringing people to tears with his brutally honest and pithy critique, told London’s “The Sun” “It would have been worth pulling her off the bill — no matter what the cost – to save any chance she had of resurrecting her career.”

The show was expected to be a comeback performance for the pop tard who, in the last few years, has managed to mangle her once-golden career with a plethora of bad wardrobe choices, a short, rocky marriage to K-Fed and by constantly putting her lack of parenting skills on display, all to the paparazzi delight.
Spears, 25, looked unprepared while performing her new song, “Gimme More,” to a bewildered audience of her music industry peers. She seemed nervous and, at times, stopped singing altogether.
“She wasn’t ready for that show in every possible way,” Cowell told the Sun. “The song wasn’t right, the image wasn’t right and she just wasn’t rehearsed.
“The problem she has now is that she could have killed her career. It’s difficult to come back from that performance, for a while at least.”
While others have been quick to judge the pop-tard’s performance — Rihanna visibly laughed at Britney during the show — rapper Kanye West came to her side, and blamed MTV for the flub.
“Man, [MTV was] just trying to get ratings, and they knew she wasn’t ready and they exploited her,” the 29-year-old rapper said Tuesday on Sirius Satellite Radio’s “The Morning Mash Up.”
The network made a “bad move” by having the troubled pop star open Sunday’s event in Las Vegas, said West, who feels he should have kicked off the show with “Stronger,” the first single from his new album, “Graduation.”
“They exploited her, they played me and I really don’t mess with MTV,” he said.
