Jennifer Hudson has been nominated in seven categories at the 2009 NAACP Image Awards and I couldn’t be happier for her. 
As you know, 2008 ended very badly for the singer/actress after her mother, brother and nephew were murdered and her brother-in-law was formally indicted for the crimes.  Let’s hope that these nominations are just the beginning of a better year for Jennifer.  I know it can’t bring her family back but it is something positive.

American Idol has been nominated for two awards at the 2009 NAACP Image Awards in the “Outstanding Reality” (series) and “Outstanding Variety” (series or special) categories. 
The show airs on February 12, 2009 at 8pm on Fox.

American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, has been nominated in the “Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration” category for her song “No Air” at the upcoming 2009 NAACP Image Awards.  Jordin and Chris won a People’s Choice Award earlier this week for their collaboration.
