Alexis Grace Talks About Life After American Idol on Fox 5 – Video
March 24, 2009 by Jeanne
Eliminated American Idol contestant, Alexis Grace, was on Fox 5 this morning where she talked about what she immediately plans to do (see her daughter!), the parting words of judge, Simon Cowell, and reviewed some of her performance (the poor girl was wincing).

American Idol 8 Top 11 – Alexis Grace “Jolene”
Alexis Grace chose “Jolene” by Dolly Parton which didn’t surprise me too much but I didn’t like the arrangement or the performance. It was okay but it could have been a lot better.Randy said there were a lot of pitch problems and the arrangement didn’t quite work. Kara said that it sounded like Alexis lost her edge a bit. Paula said it was more effective than Randy and Kara said because she took an artistic approach and showed different sides of her voice. Simon thought it was “okay” and unoriginal.

American Idol 8 Alexis Grace “Dirty Diana”

I was absolutely stunned to learn that Alexis Grace chose to sing “Dirty Diana” but, in the end, I think it was a decent song choice. She was able to adapt it to a female voice and turned it into a sassy little number.
How short were those shorts!? Both Kara and Paula liked it, though Paula warned her not to oversing but Simon kept it real by telling her that it might not have been as good as she thought.

Her parents had told her she was an great singer (how could they not know or tell her the truth) and she really believed she was good. Of course, they didn’t put her through.
Joanna Pacitti (Philadelphia, PA) has been trying to make it in the music industry for years and Kara DioGuardi recognized her. She sang “We Belong” by Pat Benetar and …read more
