After the motorcade and the actual opening of the American Idol Experience attraction, we were treated to an after-party.  For the most part, I was pleasantly surprised by how approachable and friendly the former American Idol contestants were.  The party was held outdoors near the Tower of Terror and Rock’n’Roller Coaster and the first thing you could see were these blue glowing cocktails.  It was a really cool effect since it had gotten dark.  We sat down to a catered meal and then we all just mingled and went on the rides (the park was closed to the public at …read more

I cannot put up pictures yet of what I saw while I was inside the American Idol Experience attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios but I can tell you a few things! There were five finalists and we were given instructions about how to vote for the person we liked best (there’s a voting panel on the armrests).  The only problem is that you can accidentally change the vote of the person sitting next to you, which happened to me (fortunately, it was my husband).

I will be in Orlando, Florida for the next three days attending the private opening of the American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Many of the former contestants, as well as host, Ryan Seacrest, will be there!  I’m so excited and I’m hoping to have a lot of pictures, video and stories to tell you when I get back!  In the meantime, watch a video about the new attraction! American Idol season 7 runner-up, David Archuleta, had some advice for those who plan to audition at the American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Opening on February 14, 2009 to the general public, the attraction gives people the chance to live through the American Idol audition process which includes receiving feedback from a panel of judges and an audience (the audience gets to vote!). 
The finalists get to try out for the real judges and get priority placement at one of the show’s real auditions.  Archie had some tips for standing out during the process at Disney:

David Cook has confirmed that he will be attending and performing at the world premiere of the American Idol Experience attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
I’m so excited!!!  The event takes place on February 12, 2009 and I will be flying out to attend the festivities.  If you are in the Florida area and/or will be attending let me know!

Considering auditioning at the American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida?  If so, you might want to watch the video below:

This video explains how the audition process works at the attraction.  You must perform on of the 100+ songs on the list a cappella and, if the casting director(s) like you, you will move on to the next round.  At that point, you will be seated in a room and provided with a special iPod so that you can prepare and rehearse for the second audition (which will be videotaped).  After the second audition, you will …read more

The American Idol Experience will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Theme Park at Walt Disney World next month and it sounds like it will be a lot of fun!  Starting February 14, 2009 guests of the resort will be able to get up on stage and perform at the state-of-the-art theater and experience what it is like to be on American Idol.  Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without voting!  Spectators will get to pick their favorite singer and, in the finale performance each day, “the singer getting the most votes gets priority access to a regional audition for …read more
