After being graciously welcomed by everyone at American Idol, as the new judge for the show, it seems like talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is doing all that she can in order to ensure that she’s fully prepared for her new duties.
According to rumors, Ellen and her wife, Portia de Rossi have been looking back on past seasons if Idol to get a hang of what’s in store.

I know a lot of media outlets are reporting that the American Idol judges are set to come back for the ninth season of the show but when I looked at their sources for that information, I couldn’t go along with it.

I’m glad I didn’t fall for that (even though it might be true) since E! American Idol season 8 winner, Kris Allen and runner-up, Adam Lambert were being interviewed on Larry King Live tonight. Filling in for Larry was Idol’s host, Ryan Seacrest, who also interviewed this season’s top 10 contestants.
Kris Allen admitted that being crowned the newest idol has not fully sunk in yet for him, and of course he was as humble as ever. It looks like Katrina Darrell, a.k.a. Bikini Girl, is going to have another chance at fame – this time as a Playboy model.  You might be thinking that it’s crazy that she auditioned for a singing competition but ended up having a chance to pose nude but when you look at how she showed up for her original audition, you can’t be too surprised, right?

American Idol judge, Randy Jackson was on Ellen yesterday and the two had a great time joking around and making fun of Simon Cowell and discussing the changes to the new season of the show.

I love that, like the one with David Cook, it reminds viewers of where it all began which is a nice way to also help them remember why the show is worth watching.  However, I understand why they chose to use Carrie’s “Just a Dream” in the background but the actual song’s meaning is not relevant to her success after Idol and, because of how powerful those lyrics are, it almost made me cringe to think the song was used to …read more

American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, sure has been making the rounds in the talk show circuit and last night, she stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman.  She wore some of the jewelry that she plans to debut on QVC this coming weekend and it was great because they are recession-friendly – the prices range from $13.99-$200. 
She also mentioned her new show "Rah!" which is a her new cheerleader championship on the MTV network on January 3, 2009.  That could be good!

I’m reading reports all over the place that Clay Aiken is dating Broadway dancer, Reed Kelly.  There’s a picture of them together here.
Apparently, an "insider" spilled the beans and said: "Everybody knows Reed as Clay’s guy.  Clay met him when he was doing Spamalot in early 2008, and that’s one of the reasons he came back to the show again."

American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, was on The View this morning and she looked so tiny!  Sorry, that was the first thing that stood out for me.  The started the interview with a discussion about Paula Goodspeed, the fan who was found dead outside of Paula’s home last month.  She told host, Barbara Walters, that it wasn’t the first time Goodspeed had attempted suicide in front of her home which is just so sad.  I was so shocked when Paula said that the obsessed fan had been stalking her for 17 years but that she only got access to her …read more
