American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, sang the National Anthem before Game One of the 2007 NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday night (Go Spurs!).

American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, has the new season of American Inventor to think about. With barely two weeks’ between the season finale of Idol and the beginning of Inventor, Simon is a very busy man. He’s also estimated to be worth $200 million. NBC will celebrate America’s 231st birthday with a live broadcast of the “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.” Of the performers, country music star (and American Idol guest) Martina McBride will open the event and Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis and Melinda Doolittle will perform a song together to tribute the Nation’s birthday.
The event is America’s largest 4th of July fireworks extravaganza and will feature 35,000 shells which will be set off over New York City.
Cool. Wish I could be there but I’ll just have to watch it on television!

WOW!!!! I cannot believe what I am hearing! This lady from the National Action Against Obesity says that Jordin Sparks is a bad example and should not have won American Idol because she has “extra meat” on her bones – calls her a vision of “unhealth.” You gotta see it to believe it!

Last night, American Idol fans (yes, all three of you who did not abandon this lackluster season – just kidding), watched Jordin Sparks win it all last night. She was not a forerunner in this competition but seemed to surge past Blake Lewis in the final week or so. Some people say this is because she picked up Melinda Doolittle’s and Lakisha Jones’ votes. It doesn’t matter any more, though, BECAUSE SHE WON!!!!
