Antonella, Haley and Gina – Blake Haters?
May 26, 2007 by Jeanne
Yuck – I hope this isn’t true. Apparently, before the finale, Antonella Barba, Haley Scarnato and Gina Glocksen put messages up on their MySpace pages urging their friends to vote for Jordin Sparks. That is rough! I’m not sure why they would feel it’s appropriate to do to Blake Lewis with whom they must tour this summer. If they were from a different season, maybe, but I don’t think fellow cast-members should do this kind of thing. It just isn’t classy, in my books. Well, Antonella and Haley had already shown us that but …read more
No Asians on Idol?
April 7, 2007 by Jeanne
In a recent post, a visitor left me a comment that involved the racial politics of American Idol. It got me thinking about the first major accusation of racism against the show (not that I am implying that racism is present, I’m just asking an open-ended question).
When Jennifer Hudson was voted off, there was such a public uproar that the question of racism was immediately raised. Even Elton John got involved in the debate, despite the fact that, of the six remaining contestants, at the time, three were black (Fantasia Barrino, La Toya London and George Huff). Ruben Studdard, also …read more
Ode to Antonella Barba YouTube video
March 15, 2007 by Jason
A user has put together a slideshow together of most of the risque photos that surfaced on the internet of Antonella Barba.
Many of the photos I hadn’t seen before and he’s edited them together along with the song “Bad Day” by Daniel Powter.
A little bit of a warning here. These photos are risque, but nothing is completely exposed. The closest is some hands over some bare breasts and a wet t-shirt series. So, you’ve been warned, if you’re interested in watching it continue over the jump.
American Idol Season 6: Week 3 Results Show
March 8, 2007 by Jason
Starting off the night with the group performance of “Stuck In the Middle with You”. Nice performance actually, Sundance had a small part, but he really sounded good doing it. Not sure what Blake was wearing, odd sleave thing going on. Tonight we’ll be hearing from Season 4 winner, Carrie Underwood.
Taking a quick glance at the poll, the four people that you say will be leaving this week are:
Sanjaya Malakar – 55 votes
Antonella Barba – 48 votes
Haley Scarnato – 21 votes
Jared Cotter – 8 votes
We’ll see how it goes, that may be a pretty good guess on those going home. …read more
American Idol 6: Week 3 “Girls Night”
March 7, 2007 by Jason
Now it’s Wednesday night and that means it’s time to watch the girls perform and see where it takes them this week. According to this week’s poll, you all feel like it should be Antonella Barba and Haley Scarnato to go home this week. Let’s get started and see how it goes.
First of all, why is Ryan Seacrest dressed like Mike Meyers as Deter from Saturday Night Live?
Jordin Sparks
Football is a huge part of her life, not a surprise given that her dad was an NFL player for the Seattle Seahawks. Jordin has picked “Heartbreaker” by Pat Benetar. She’s not …read more
Alaina Alexander Supports Antonella Barba
March 4, 2007 by Jason
In interviews with TV Guide following last week’s voting off of Alaina Alexander, Alaina appeared to be very supportive of Antonella and her efforts in going further on the show amidst all the turmoil and chaos of the recent photos online.
“She’s strong, and she’s going to be just fine. Everything that’s going on… she’ll pull through.”
If you’ll remember, Alaina couldn’t quite make it through her encore performance of her song after getting voted out of the contestant pool for Season 6. This is what she had to say about that experience.
As for breaking down in tears during her Thursday-night swan …read more
American Idol 6: Week 2 “Girls Night” Part I
February 28, 2007 by Jason
Maybe the big question is whether or not anything will be said about Antonella Barba tonight. I’m thinking probably not. Ten girls go out to battle again this evening. Let’s see who’ll outshine this week. If I could do anything regarding American Idol right now, it would be to eliminate the word “dog” from Randy’s vocabulary.
Gina Glocksen: 22 from Naperville, IL
She’s dedicated her performance to her boyfriend. She’s auditioned multiple times and her boyfriend has supported her. Looks like she almost fell down walking out in that dress and singing at the same time. Boring performance so far, but it …read more
BuddyTV Weighs in on Antonella Barba Story
February 27, 2007 by Jason
Even though we’re now seeing stories about some of the more raunchy photos of “Antonella Barba” not being her, BuddyTV still weighs in on what the producers of the show will do about this scandal….nothing.
Well, I would say no. The pictures of Antonella are pretty innocent, when it comes down to it. The pornography angle has no warrant; there is no law against dressing slutty (for Halloween and New Years, it’s basically required) and Antonella was not paid for the pictures. Frenchie did nothing illegal also, but her involvement with a porn site seemed to be the deciding factor there. …read more
