I have to admit that I’m still amazed by the success and popularity of the band. I know that Chris was a huge favorite on the show and I was so shocked when he was eliminated, leaving Elliott Yamin (3rd place), Katharine McPhee (runner-up) and Taylor Hicks (winner) to round out the top three spots. He’s still going strong (the strongest of that season, for sure) and I’m …read more
Chris Daughtry on 100th Episode of CSI:NY
I never watch CSI:NY (trust me, I mean NEVER) but I thought it was cool that former American Idol finalist, Chris Daughtry, appeared on the show’s 100th episode where a killer is targeting all the men named Mac Taylor across Manhattan. Of course, the lead detective (played by Gary Sinise) is also named Mac Taylor. *sigh* I was happily surprised to see Scott Wolf as one of the Mac Taylors (I was having some Party of Five nostalgia just this past weekend!). In one scene, Chris goes after Scott. What could be better than that!?
Check out a little of …read more

Chris Daughtry Reclaims #1 Spot
Chris Daughtry’s group, Daughtry, and their first album “Daughtry” has reclaimed the #1 Billboard spot from Norah Jones.
In yet another week where no album sold more than 100,000 copies, Daughtry’s self-titled RCA debut flip-flops with Norah Jones’ “Not Too Late” (Blue Note) to reclaim the No. 1 position on The Billboard 200. The Daughtry album inched up 6.6% to sales of 90,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, scoring its second non-consecutive week at the top.
Week 1 Results Show
February 22, 2007 by Jason
I’m watching the results show now. I love this show, but this is the epitome of taking the most time to say nothing. There’s nothing new shared at all on this show, just the best clips.
The only thing interesting is seeing all of them perform the group songs. The hardest workers in all of this though are the sound guys that are managing the mix for 24 different vocalists with very different volume and power.
HEY! Paul Kim has shoes on!
24 is just a huge group. I like it, but it just seems odd.

Chris Daughtry Sings National Anthem Video
One of readers just let me know he found the YouTube video of Chris Daughtry singing the National Anthem at the NFC Championship game in Chicago.

Chris Daughtry Sings National Anthem for NFC Championship Game
January 21, 2007 by Jason
Just sitting here getting ready to watch the NFC Championship game and they announce that Chris Daughtry was going to sing the National Anthem. He walked to the center field in a leather coat and Chicago Bears scarf.
He did a great job, infused it with his rocker voice and made it his own without embelishing far too much and just making it annoying.
Great job Chris!
American Idol Season 6 Premiere – Part II
January 16, 2007 by Jason
Okay, now we’re back from the fourteenth million commercial break and in to the 2nd hour of the premiere.
First up is someone doing the Cowardly Lion from Wizard of Oz. Go back to Oz. You’re not that unique and you can’t sing. See you later. Use the right door. Oops…she didn’t.
Vocal teacher in green shirt, you’d hope this guy can sing. “I Don’t Want to Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith. He uses a pitch pipe. You’d expect that from a vocal coach wouldn’t you. OUCH! High pitch noises in falsetto, I can’t take it! Randy is really being hardcore. …read more

Daughtry on AOL Sessions as Well
December 28, 2006 by Jason
After listening to all of the songs available from Taylor Hicks on the AOL Sessions website, I also discovered that fellow American Idol, Chris Daughtry also has some selections available. I really thought Chris would win Season 5 of American Idol, but it just didn’t happen. I’m happy Taylor Hicks won, but surprised that more of the country didn’t vote and choose Chris Daughtry over Taylor in the end. I thought it would be Taylor, Katharine and Chris in the Top 3.
Here are the different videos that are available on the AOL Music Sessions site
