Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, Hank Azaria and Bill Hader opened the show with a little skit and it was pretty funny. I cracked up at Jonah’s impression of Randy Jackson.
More than 88 million votes were cast to determine the Top 2 and I can’t believe we are at this point of the season already! Apparently, the person being sent home tonight lost by one million votes. That’s crazy!
Alicia Keys came out to add to what Carrie Underwood said about Idol Gives Back. She introduced a young man who wants to make an album to help other African children so that …read more
American Idol Season 8 Top 4 Results Show

The show started with a group performance of “School’s Out” which is one of my favorite songs to play on Guitar Hero: Legends of Rock. It was pretty cool to see the contestants rock out like that.
Danny Gokey had me cracking up as he talked about how funny it was to watch his performance from last night. Judge Simon Cowell had said his last note sounded like something from a horror movie and Danny had to agree. He said that his own aunt had muted it and he heard that people were making ringtones. Too funny!
We were treated …read more
American Idol 8 Top 5 Results Show

The results show started with this week’s Ford commercial, we saw the group number (a medley of songs from the Rat Pack era) and then we saw footage of a food fight that erupted at the American Idol mansion while they celebrated Allison Iraheta’s birthday.Natalie Cole and Taylor Hicks performed. It was a pretty good performance from Taylor and I hope that it gets the word out about his new music and gives his sales a nice boost.
Jamie Foxx also sang his new song “Blame It” but I don’t know if it counts as singing if your voice is so …read more

The American Idol results show was tonight and it was fun to see the finalists at the premiere of 17 Again and then have the star, Zac Efron, in the audience.
The guest performers were Jennifer Hudson and Miley Cyrus. Hudson sang “If This Isn’t Isn’t Love” and I thought she gave a good performance. Cyrus sang her new song “The Climb” and I really didn’t love it.
Anoop Desai, Lil Rounds and Matt Giraud were in the bottom three tonight. Anoop was the first to be sent back to the couch (thank goodness!) and I was shocked that Lil was the …read more
American Idol 8 Top 8 Results Show Recap
Tonight’s American Idol results show started with a song from Simon Cowell’s year of birth (1959). Old footage of Frankie Avalon singing his hit song “Venus” was shown but then Avalon walked out on stage. It was a fun moment.
The Ford commercial this week featured Britney Spears’ single “Circus” and it was pretty good. I’ve found the commercials less entertaining this season so this was a bit of an improvement.
Flo Rida sang “Right Round” and can I saw that the girl who sings the hook (Kesha) annoyed me so much. Her singing was not great and she just irritated …read more
Alexis Grace Eliminated on American Idol
March 18, 2009 by Jeanne
During tonight’s results show, Alexis Grace, Allison Iraheta and Michael Sarver were in the bottom three. Allison was the first to be sent back to the couch. The judges revealed that they were considering saving one of them if it came to it. When it was announced that Michael was safe, Simon said that they would base their decision on how well Alexis sang “Jolene” for the second time. Unfortunately, the girl fell apart. It’s too bad because Simon actually looked sad when he told her that the judges had decided not to save her. I think this was a …read more
American Idol Season 8 Top 13 Results Show

It was an interesting episode tonight. We heard about the new rule, we saw this season’s first Ford commercial, performances by Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson and, of course, the two eliminations (pictures and video coming soon).
The first bottom two consisted of Jasmine Murray and Megan Joy. Megan didn’t have to sweat too long because Ryan told her she was safe. Jasmine performed and Ryan told her she would be eliminated unless the judges chose to save her. No pressure! Of course, Randy told her she was going home and we got to hear Carrie Underwood sing “Home Sweet Home” …read more
American Idol Results – Lil, Scott and Jorge Make the Top 12
March 4, 2009 by Jeanne
On American Idol tonight, we found out which contestants advanced to the finals. I can’t put my finger on it but this eighth season is just not as interesting as the others. Do you feel the same way? MJ from MJ’s Big Blog put up a post recently showing how the ratings continue to drop and I am not at all surprised.
The first person named to the Top 12 from Group 3 is Lil Rounds! She did a great job performing Mary J Blige’s hit “Be Without You” and I’m thrilled that she made it to the finals!
The second …read more
