Ryan asks if Paula’s nose is alright (she broke it during an effort to avoid stepping on her dog, Tulip) and after Paula said that her dog was fine, Ryan said “so the bitch is okay.” Wow.

Pretty funny, little video clip of the final three singing “Young At Heart”. They’re all dressed up as really old people in a retirement home. They’re killing time and showing some video footage from the three contestants returning to their hometowns. Rebecca Romjiin and Hugh Jackman visited them backstage and gave them a sneak peak DVD of the X-Men 3 to watch on their flights back home. How sweet would it be to get your hands on that DVD!

For the first round tonight the contestants are singing songs picked out for them by Clive Davis. This guy has got quite a bit of history in the music industry and seems to know a little something about music and what’s going to sell. He’s starting off great, definitely a blues song. He’s really throwing down the gauntlet on this song. This is starting off to be a great performance. He’s working this song and is really showing that he can do more than the great crooning his been seemingly relying on a little bit lately. On a side note, not sure what’s wrong with my A/V setup, reconnected everything from my TV/Comcast DVR/stereo and the sound is fading in and out. And changed the audio over to optical input. Sound is getting annoying though.
Elliott doesn’t have the words memorized yet for the song. It amazes me that they can’t memorize songs better than that.

Quick intro about Graceland and the Idols performing Elvis hits. The contestants were welcomed to Graceland by Elvis’ daughter, Priscilla. She’s looking spooky to me, but that’s just my opinion. The Idols will be working with Tommy Mottola for some insight and review. Next up, the Idols.
