What a difference four years can make!  American Idol season seven runner-up, David Archuleta, sang at Utah governor, Jon Huntsman’s inauguration.  Here’s a video of the excellent performance:

Just four years ago, David performed at governor’s inauguration for the first time and, while it was a valiant effort, he was so nervous that he stumbled over words and struggled with his pitch.  Watch the video:

American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, sang the National Anthem before Game One of the 2007 NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday night (Go Spurs!).

One of readers just let me know he found the YouTube video of Chris Daughtry singing the National Anthem at the NFC Championship game in Chicago.

Also, just have to say this. GO COLTS!!! What an AFC Game!

Just sitting here getting ready to watch the NFC Championship game and they announce that Chris Daughtry was going to sing the National Anthem. He walked to the center field in a leather coat and Chicago Bears scarf.
He did a great job, infused it with his rocker voice and made it his own without embelishing far too much and just making it annoying.
Great job Chris!

Trenyce was an American Idol finalist three years ago, and is now starring in an Indianapolis production of “Dreamgirls”.
She sang the National Anthem on Sunday at the 7th running of U.S.Grand Prix Formula 1 event, which I was lucky enough to attend. She did a good job on the song, I just get tired of artists using the opportunity to sing our national anthem as a spotlight for them to showcase their ability to not sing a song normally and throw various vocal inflections into a song that aren’t needed.
