Sanjaya Malakar Talks About Book on Good Morning America
American Idol season 6 finalist, Sanjaya Malakar, was on Good Morning America last Friday. Did you guys get a chance to see him? I’m no Sanjaya hater but, I’m sorry, he looks like he could use a makeover. What do you think?
He was on the daytime talk show to talk about his new book, “Dancing to the Music in My Head.” If you’re interested, you can read an excerpt on the Good Morning America website. I’m not sure if I’m a big enough fan of Sanjaya’s to read (or buy) his book. Are you going to get it?

Sanjaya’s Mom Talks, Discusses Hare Krishna
June 2, 2007 by Jeanne
I’m going to leave this interview in it’s original form because it just says it all:
“This story is very significant to the Indian community,” says Jillian Rechi, or Jayaradhe as she was known in the Hare Krishna movement a decade ago.
The story is about her children Shyamali and Sanjaya Malakar who became famous overnight, thanks to the talent contest American Idol.
“Both Shyamali (Rosaria Malakar) and Sanjaya (Joseph Malakar) embraced their Indian cultural roots.”
Recchi, who spent over two months recently with her 17-year-old son in Hollywood, was often joined by daughter Shyamali, and on one occasion her former husband Vasudeva Malakar, …read more

Sanjaya’s Finale Performance Video and Pics
May 24, 2007 by Jeanne
Oh my goodness. Okay, I understand that he was a phenomenon that no one understood this season but when Sanjaya Malakar was compared to John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King jr. and Ghandi, I was mildly offended. I actually like Sanj but they went too far! Oh well. It was entertaining since they got the crying girl to come back and she delivered. Get that girl some valium!!!
Here are some pics!

Sanjaya Malakar is still being recognized for his “work” on American Idol. The AZN Asian Excellence Awards have nominated him as the Favorite Reality TV Star. The results will be announced on Monday, May 28th at 8PM EST. In the meantime, here are some pics! Hey, I know the second one if of him and Apolo Ohno (Olympic skater and Dancing with the Stars finalist) but who is he with in the third pic?

Sayonara Sanjaya! – Tears or Cheers?
April 18, 2007 by Jeanne
Sanjaya Malakar said good-bye to American Idol tonight. He sang “Something to Talk About” as the show closed and changed the words to “Let’s give them something to talk about – other than hair.” Oh Sanjaya, we talked about more than your hair!!!! That was clever and classy and I know that I will miss him. It was really a love-hate relationship that I had with this contestant and I was a little saddened by his departure but the show must go on.
We’ve Gotten Rid of Haley. What Should Happen to Sanjaya??? Take the Poll
April 14, 2007 by Jeanne
I don’t know what to say anymore. Seriously. I’ve tried to be fair – diplomatic even, at the expense of some of my sanity. I think that part of the reason for it was that, with the exception of Gina Glocksen, I’ve more or less agreed with the progression of the show. Now, with Haley Scarnato gone, I am becoming more uneasy. When there were other people who, on some level, were as “bad” as Sanjaya, I got a bit of a laugh out of the situation. But when I heard people talking about him possibly beating out Blake Lewis …read more
Bitter Paris calls American Idol “a Joke” – Vows to Screw With Results
April 13, 2007 by Jeanne
Wow. I really liked Paris Bennett and was sad when she was voted off last season. At just 17 she seemed mature, innovative, versatile and talented. Now she just seems like a vengeful betch! She phoned into a Minneapolis radio show and said that she and some other contestants (likely other Idol “losers”) support the website VotefortheWorst.com in hopes of messing up the results. She added that they “want to see [Sanjaya] win because it’ll kind of prove that American Idol is kind of losing its taste” since “it kinda isn’t going for talent anymore and more for popularity” (wow, …read more
Results Show – April 11, 2007
April 11, 2007 by Jeanne
Since it is latin week, I will stick with the theme and say “Hasta la vista, baby!”
Her Ho Patrol has obviously become the “No” Patrol. Haley Scarnato is going home. I think making the contestants sing after their elimination is cruel and in this case, I feel like I’ve been punished as well.
I must say that I agree with the bottom three. I think Jordin was a bit worse than Chris but Phil is getting on my last nerve. He is talented but I don’t know what happened to him over the last few weeks. If you listen to him …read more
