]]> On November 22, 2009, former American Idol contestant, Syesha Mercado, will be embarking on a national tour of the musical, Dreamgirls. 

Syesha has been cast in the role of Deena, which was brought to the big screen by Beyonce Knowles a couple years ago.  Of course, Syesha’s fellow Idol alum, Jennifer Hudson, is probably most associated with the film version since she won an Oscar for her magnificent portrayal of Effie White.

Syesha was on the Wendy Williams show last week.  Here’s a video of her appearance.

]]> American Idol season 7 finalist, Syesha Mercado, has landed the role of Deena Jones in the international touring production of Dreamgirls.  I think that she’s a great fit for the role which was played by Beyoncé Knowles in the movie.

Of course, Syesha isn’t the only Idol finalist to be linked to the play.  Jennifer Hudson earned the “Best Supporting Actress” award at the 2007 Academy Awards for her break-out performance in the film adaptation.

American Idol season 7 finalist, Syesha Mercado, sat down and talked about the American Idol Experience attraction which is opening next month at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida (Syesha’s home state!).

]]> Okay, I was surprised when I found out that Justin Guarini was at the IKEA Thanksgiving Day Parade (since I didn’t realize that there was even such a thing!) but then I found out that American Idol finalist, Syesha Mercado, was also there!  She sang “One Rock and Roll Too Many” and she looked super cute in her cap and coat.
