American Idol season 8 winner, Kris Allen and runner-up, Adam Lambert were being interviewed on Larry King Live tonight. Filling in for Larry was Idol’s host, Ryan Seacrest, who also interviewed this season’s top 10 contestants.
Kris Allen admitted that being crowned the newest idol has not fully sunk in yet for him, and of course he was as humble as ever. The American Idol website now provides the opportunity to download MP3 of the finalists recent performances. The MP3’s cost $.99, but you can also purchase videos in WMV format for $1.99.
My question though is the webpage has a banner at the top that says, “Hurry! MP3 Offer Ends May 23, 2007!!”. Why? This is a brilliant marketing idea.

Paula Abdul has had some video clips of her taken off of YouTube. The video clips allegedly illustrate Paula Abdul’s loss of control and seeming problem with being intoxicated.
This kind of stuff really irritates me. I don’t think she’s ever been drunk, but she’s definitely been a little hyper-active and loopy that’s for sure. I don’t believe the two are mutually exclusive of each other as one being the cause of the other, but that seems to be the news.

Have you been keeping up with some of the audition videos that are available on the American Idol website?
Who have you seen that you think has the best chance?

The Official American Idol website by Fox now allows you to download music from your favorite American Idol contestants and finalists. This seems to be the defacto place to get all your favorite Idolist songs in a single place.
I’m not sure what their requirement is for getting on the site. I don’t see the ability to get recordings from Ayla Brown, Kimberly Locke, Joshua Gracin or George Huff, whom I know have albums and recordings available. It’s probably some kind of label or contractual agreement that prevents that from happening.

After listening to all of the songs available from Taylor Hicks on the AOL Sessions website, I also discovered that fellow American Idol, Chris Daughtry also has some selections available. I really thought Chris would win Season 5 of American Idol, but it just didn’t happen. I’m happy Taylor Hicks won, but surprised that more of the country didn’t vote and choose Chris Daughtry over Taylor in the end. I thought it would be Taylor, Katharine and Chris in the Top 3.
