This Week in American Idol Controversies
With all the chatter this morning, I thought it would be appropriate to review some of the confirmed controversies surrounding American Idol:
In an interview prior to the start of the fifth season of American Idol, Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe revealed for the first time that Clay Aiken had led the fan voting every week from the Wild Card week onward until the finale, when the possibly-random voting result gave Ruben Studdard the win. This Week on Idol
First things first before we talk about what’s happening this week. The important thing to talk about is what we’re doing this week. We’re voting Sanjaya off aren’t we? Please! Pretty please?!
Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s talk about this week on American Idol. What interesting thing will happen this week. We all know who I want to go home, but will Sanjaya pull another one out of his rear end with the help of VoteForTheWorst behind him? Or, will it be Haley Scarnato that goes home this week. VoteForTheWorst – Negatively Influencing Voting

Could it be the reason for Sanjaya making it this far be the votes are being skewed as an intentional attempt to sabotage the show?
The VoteForTheWorst website has created a grassroots campaign to basically promote the latest version of William Hung. Okay, Sanjaya’s not that bad, but the intent of the website is to put through the worst singers to illustrate a point that the show isn’t really about talent, but about good reality TV.
