That’s Okay. I Didn’t Want to be Here Anyway!

Wow. Chris Sligh sure is a lucky guy. He’s been getting everything he wants lately.
First, he says he was attending the Christian fundamentalist, Bob Jones University, but was kicked out for going to a contemporary Christian concert. That was okay, Sligh says, since leaving the school “was actually good, because I had been trying to figure out how to leave.” (uh, it’s called transferring to another school, but whatever).
He apparently felt similarly about being on American Idol. He told The Greenville News on Thursday that he “never came into this wanting to win it.” In fact, he says he thought about quitting two weeks before he was voted off but stayed because making the top 10 was his true goal. “I wanted to make the tour,” he said. “I wanted to be able to make music for my living, so I don’t have to work at the marketing company that I was working at.” The tour does come with a hefty paycheck, so I guess he got want he wanted.
Congratulations, Chris, I guess…

Check out what others are saying about this post...[...] he got kicked out of his Christian college because he wanted to leave and didn’t know how (I suggested transferring to another school, but I digress) and then he said it was cool that he got voted off American Idol because winning wasn’t [...]
[...] did his whole “I wasn’t in this to win and I was gonna quit anyway” interview, it really ticked me off. I hate it when something fails for someone and then they act like it had nothing to do with them [...]
