The Sanjaya Report - May 3, 2007

Sanjaya Malakar has made it on to Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People for 2007. I was expecting him to just squeak in at maybe #98 or something but I was stunned to see him at #6! WOW!!! Remarkably, he has beat out heavyweights like Perez Hilton, Bono, J.K. Rowling, Jon Stewart, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Barack Obama!!! I cannot believe it. He was a contestant on a talent show with slumping ratings, got booted off after much controversy, has a mom who was convicted of growing marijuana and his sister is a Hooters girl. Man, this just shows that anything is possible.

The stories about Sanjaya’s mom are just swelling in abundance and I am beginning to wonder if the lady has a problem.
Last month, it was all over the paper. Sanjaya’s mom was busted for growing marijuana and as a condition of her sentencing, she was required to stay clear and sober. Apparently this condition ceased to be valid since she has completed her 12 months of “community supervision.”
I guess she thought that meant she could just light up again because this picture, released by the National Enquirer, shows Momjaya toking up at a Hollywood party in MARCH!!! Holy smokes, woman! Here’s her son trying to get a break on the world’s biggest talent show and she’s off getting high. If she needs help, I hope she gets it.

Now do you notice how dull AI is without The Sanj? Are you really excited about who is going home, or who eventually wins? The Top 5 are all talented but none of them are particularly entertaining or charismatic. The Bon Jovi week would have been much more entertaining if we had The Sanj making another crazy attempt to rock out. What a miss opportunity!
