Tina Arena To Judge on Australian Idol
April 10, 2008 by Jeanne
Australian recording artist, Tina Arena, will serve as a guest judge alongside Savage Garden lead singer, Darren Hayes on the upcoming season of Australian Idol.
I am so excited by this! I cannot tell you how much I love Tina Arena from her albums and her performance as Esmeralda in Notre Dame de Paris. I can’t wait to see what she is like since I’ve only seen her in short interviews and performing.
Darren, I’m sure, will also have a lot of valuable input. I’m really looking forward to this next season!

Tina Arena on Oz Idol? Sounds good to me. At least there will be someone who is qualified to judge!
Go Tina and Darren!
Tina should be made main judge, get rid of Kyle.
Tina Arena is the cream of Australian talent. I agree with Lauren, she should be made a permanent part of the show.
Tina will make Australina Idol worth watching this year.
Why not make Ricki Lee Coulter and Tina Arena the two new Hosts!? Both girls could show em a thing or two with their own vocal gymnastics.
Tina Arena = “Vocal Gymnastics”? Please….
Such an ill fitting description if you ask me. Tina’s voice is pure gold, she doesnt need to follow the Maria Carey mania like most other female artists do these days.
I like Ricki, but Tina’s style is far more sophisticated. Leave Ricki to host and Tina to judge.
I agree with Lauren,
Tina is at the peak of her career, releasing hit albums left and right. Remember 2007’s Oz #3 hit Songs of Love & Loss? and at the same time cracking the French charts also with 7 Vies and a new French single, I remember it was her 6th Top 10 single there from that 7 Vies album. Plus she’s in Oz now with Andrea Bocelli. Plus releasing Songs of Love & Loss II!
Whew!
Tina should judge period!
Tina is gorgeous! haha!
Everyone has made some great points about Tina.
I’ve grown up watching this lady perform and there is no one else quite like her. I believe a show like Australian Idol puts Tina Arena right in her element, she would have so much to offer a show like this. She is one super talent that Australia can be truly proud of and can learn so much from. Cant wait to see Tina share her insights on OZ Idol, she’s amazing.
