We Are the World
Tonight at dinner my 6-year old son was singing a song they’re learning in school. He was astonished when my wife and I started singing the lyrics right along with him. The song was “We Are the World”, made famous in 1985 when it was written and sung to benefit famine relief in Africa.
I was looking online to see if I could play the original song for my son so he could hear it. That was until he said they played it for him on iTunes in class. iTunes in music class. We’ve come a long way from sandpaper blocks and recorders haven’t we?
Anyway, I was looking up more information on the song on Wikipedia to share with my son, when I noticed a new artist I never really thought before singing the song, but now is more than popular and well-known. Who could that be? Our very own Randy Jackson.
It’s a small world (I wonder if he helped sing that too)
