Excellent final show of Idol. Jordin deserves the win with an excellent voice. All around star quality about her. She will go far in the singing industry. Blake was entertaining and will do well in his singing career. If he’s not to busy maybe we can get him to cut an album for us at http://www.Idol.KidMusic.com , the teen fans seem to really love Blake and his beat boxing and they’d love it even more if it were personalized for his fans. We’ll see if we can make it happen.

Jordan brought tears to me eyes when she sang “This is my now” As I was watching her I could not help but think of my beautiful youngest daughter.

To be honest I hate Jordin. I am very sorry to all you Jordin fans, but she seems like a great big fony to me! She is always making these faces that say”Oh, I’m so cute” and “Oh, everybody loves me”. I also do not like her voice. In most of her performances she either doesn’t hit the notes or barely slides into them. When she goes into lower notes she can’t hold on to them. Her vibrato is overwhelming and unnecessary at some points. I cannot go through a Jordin Sparks song without hearing her shrieking. She also yodels way to much. She needs to control that because it is not appealing in most cases. She annoys me so much!!! She als has practically no showmanship and barely moves when she’s on stage. It also doesn’t help that she seems to have been favored throughout this whole competition!!! If I thought Jordin had won fair and square, then I would not be as angry as I am now. I would be able to say that Blake lost fairly. I would still ask myself what America is thinking, but I’d be more supportive. This is one thing that digusts me about American Idol. There has never been a season without controversies. I honestly don’t know whether I can watch this show anymore. It is too controversial, sneeky, biased, and unfair. I am a Canadian and I know that Candiian Idol has the same voting system as American Idol. Yet some how there simply are no such controversies and everyone knows that the winners got their titles in respectable ways. AI controversies are too draining: you get rapped up in the show and stupid crap happens.
If Jordin had gotten screwed over as bad as Blake did I would still be upset and might not watch the show anymore. It’s not just about Blake. It’s also about the show in general.
I’ll stick to my Candian shows;) (except for America’s Next Top Model and So You Think You Can Dance!)

Noo! I was going for Blake…. Oh well… I can’t stand Jordin. But hey, it is what it is. Anyways, I can’t wait for Blake’s album. I’m looking foward to his songs.

I know. I cannot believe it either. Congrats to Jordin but I don’t feel like it was fair. That last song was ridiculous last night.

I’m very happy for her~~~I LOVE Jordin~she puts so much emotion into her songs rather than just spitting all the time!

I think it is extremely sad that people seem to think they need to put Jordin down or say the show is biased etc just because their favorite didn’t win. Obviously, both Jordin & Blake are extremely talented people, but I think people are forgetting one thing…. the show is not called American Entertainer. Although Blake is a very talented entertainer, his voice is real good but not outstanding — he seems to beat box to make up for any shortcomings he has in singing. Jordin, on the other hand, is an awesome singer with a beautiful voice and had the entertaining qualities as well.
I think America’s voting has said it all.
Congratulations to both Jordin & Blake, as they are both winners in the end.

Debbie, I do agree that people should not be abusive towards people but I also think that it is completely acceptable for people to express their frustration - especially in light of the fact that there have been voting controversies in the past. If we don’t have stimulating conversation about things, good shows like American Idol do not get even better!
For the record, I don’t think Blake is a fantastic singer (he’s good) but he is an amazing peformer. I said in another post that he tends to overuse his beatboxing talent but when he harnesses it, he does very well. Jordin can sing but she is not terribly entertaining (she pretty much stands in one place, plus she has sung more slow songs than ballads which hasn’t really shown her range).

it is amazing that there are some people out there who actually think that Blake should have won. He is entertaining no doubt ( as compared to jordin) but his singing is at the most mediocre. His beatboxing on the other hand is completely out of this world. Despite the fact that Jordin was not as entertaining and had a tendency of being glued to one spot when she sang, she is without a doubt a superior singer and Blake simply crumbles at her feet;-) After all , it is a singing competion and one has to bear in mind that Jordin is only 17 and in time and with the right guidance and exposure, she would be a fantastic singer as well as entertainer. back on the issue of biasness and controversies, the biggest controvery and demonstration of biasness was when Melinda was voted out. for crying out loud people, the finals should have been betweem Melinda and Jordin and Blake should not have been in the picture to begin with.
Cheers

Stupid Comcast DVR! I watched the entire show and it cut off the last bit where the winner was actually announced. Luckily I knew I could come here and find out quickly. Congrats to Jordin. Blake and Melinda will have their own albums anyway.

Aww, Lauren your so bitter…it’s ok hon cause Blake will do better not being under that AI umbrella. To be honest I think the season as a whole was a disaster. I do feel your passion and frustration with the show. You said Jordin seemed fony and that is probably true but I think it’s true with all the contestants. There is a little bit of fony in all of them, some just seem to show it more or over do it like Sanjaya, Haley, Antonella…remember Mikalah…that &^#$ was and is so fake, fony whatever you want to call her!
I can’t wait to see So You Think You Can Dance though and they are bringing back Hell’s Kitchen too…the Simon Cowell of the kitchen….I love it!
But it’s ok Lauren, Blake will be just fine :)

Wow Blake wasn’t kidding about going out to party after the show. I just saw an interview with him from this morning…yo he could barely see straight…Jordin looked fine just tired but Blake???? What happened bro….
I’m trying to find a picture of him but came across a very interesting interview with Blake on MTV. Check it out:
MTV: How are you holding up?
Blake Lewis: Great. I’m great. I’m very excited. I couldn’t have asked for a better night. Tonight was amazing.
MTV: Let’s talk about your collaboration [with Doug E. Fresh]. Sorry, Bette Midler, but Blake’s performance was definitely the hottest thing tonight. Was it a dream come true?
Lewis: That was Doug E. allowing me to hang out with him onstage, and that was an honor. Forever etched in my brain. It was one of the hottest times I will ever have onstage. It was just a dream come true. Hopefully I’ll get to get him in the studio, and we’ll have to do, like, a beatbox track, you know? Get something really down.
SEE Lauren! Blake is going to be just fine on his own doing what he loves! :) I’m actually happy for him b/c he may have gotten the better end of the stick and he is happy with being runner up :)
read on:
MTV: Let’s talk about the album. Any news on that?
Lewis: You know, I can only hope in the next, like, two weeks or before the tour that I get signed and get management. Things take [their] course, it seems, from the show. Hopefully I get represented by the creative people I surround myself with and get to make the album I’ve always wanted to. I’ve tried to stay true to myself this whole entire time, and I think I’ve represented myself as creatively as I could with what I got on the show. So I’m excited to do that even more so singing my own songs I’ve written and, you know, just be me 110 percent.

Hey A’kyra, wow was I ever bitter last night! Reading over my comment today was interesting(probably should have given it more time before I commented…Lol). Note to all you people out there: don’t rage and type at the same time;). Some things you should just keep to yourself(my mistake). I was thinking about it last night, and I think that if Blake was forced to be under that record label, he would probably have to change a little of who he is and what his style is. His style is simply too “different”. He should find a company that would let him do his thing.
BTW, Hell’s Kitchen is so awesome. That guy is rough.

in a way, Melinda and Blake might just be better off.
i don’t know the details but the winner is automatically represented by 19 Entertainment, American Idol’s main management team. Jordin will be under contract. don’t really know the specifics for Melinda and Blake, but they are obligated to perform for the American Idols LIVE! Tour starting from July to September. maybe after that they can go with whatever record label signs them.

Lauren it’s ok, your supposed to let it out! I’m sure there are so many Blake fans out there that felt the same way you did but in the end he is happy and will probably be more successful without AI’s contract so he is better off whereas poor Jordin has to do AI music for what a year? Anyone know how long they have to stay under the AI contract???
So it’s ok to be bitter, it really is but when you have people on here making totally absurd comments and jumping around like a 5th grader over a pipe dream of actually hooking up and getting phone numbers…OMG!!!!!!
Like I said earlier…WoW! Jeanne please don’t ban me it just slipped out!!!!! LMAO :)
Jeanne will we be discussing Hell’s Kitchen and or So You Think You Can Dance or no??? :(

Random - me thinks you could be right. It has definitely crossed my mind. Jordin might really have some problems with crotchety old Clive Davis but Blake will be free. I think it is for the best.
A’kyra - I am not going to ban you, lol. You are so funny! OMG - I am so into those two shows but I can’t talk about them here. We’ll have to head over to http://www.realityexploits.com/ to chit chat. Did you see that SYTYCD premiere last night? I laughed till I cried when I saw that “Sex” came back. That fight with Nigel at the end was classic!!!

Congrats to Jordin. Her style or lack of it will develop once she grows up. Give her time she may become one of the best performers around. As for Blake, with his personality and voice he will go far in his own right.
I think that the show American Idol has run its course. It has been on for nearly 10 seasons now and sometimes it becomes very repetitive. Just different people with a slightly different sound. The show has been good but time marches on.
Good Luck to both Jordin and Blake.

The person that America thought was deserving won the competition. Lets just leave it at that.

The whole “idol” concept breaks young people and although some talent eventually gets recognized, tons of talent never gets the light of day and that’s what makes shows like this so laughable, credibility-wise.
With this being said, of course, hurray for the winner!
